I hoped that I can help my client to work with this lawyer. however, respectfully I contacted Mrs. Oti Winifred Uku Nwosu regarding a straightforward easy immigration matter involving the Affidavit of Support. Despite multiple attempts to clarify the client’s urgent legal needs, I found her unresponsive, inattentive, and unfamiliar with the enforcement requirements mandated by USCIS. She showed no interest in hearing legal specifics and quickly dismissed relevant USCIS law I referenced, disregarding both the information provided and the applicable immigration law readily available on the USCIS website. When asked if she had handled similar cases before, she claimed she had; however, I question how she managed such cases while seemingly unaware of the Affidavit of Support’s 10-year duration. She was quick to dismiss this legal requirement without any legal basis to support her opinion. Incorrectly, she insisted that the Affidavit of Support obligation lasts only 5 years, contrary to the 10-year period outlined by USCIS. This fundamental misinformation, combined with her sarcastic and judgmental attitude, raised concerns, as it could easily dissuade a client from pursuing their legal rights based on her incorrect opinion when, in fact, federal law does allow them to proceed. More troubling was her dismissive comment advising the disabled, 85-year-old client to “find a job” rather than pursue his legal right to support from his sponsor, showing a lack of understanding of both the Affidavit’s obligations and the realities of age and disability. Based on this experience, I would not recommend her for immigration-related cases, as she seemed quick to draw incorrect conclusions without supporting legal knowledge, or consideration for the client’s legal needs
