I have had the privilege of working with Mehagen McRae as my attorney for the last five years and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for her exceptional services. Mehagen represented me in my protective order trial, divorce, and custody trial. All of the outcomes were in my favor and I will definitely hire her again if needed. She is the attorney who fights for you and your child(ren). She understands you and has a beautiful soul. Even when faced with unreasonable and unprofessional opposing counsels who represented my ex-husband during the above processes, Mehagen maintained her composure and integrity. The 1st family lawyer I got was horrible and cost me about $10k. I hired Mehagen back in 2013 and she was empathetic, honest and great in the courtroom when fighting for you and your case. I definitely recommend this lawyer and would use her again if I need to return to court. I have almost given up faith in the justice system but Mehagen and one other lawyer have given me hope that there are lawyers will truly care and will fight for you and your child.

Absolutely amazing in the court and a delight to work with. If she has decided to take your case you are safe. After a very unfair trial in 2019 I had lost faith in Judicial system and the lawyers that are working for fairfax court. Mehagen valued my honesty and used it as her strength. I got the decision making authority for my child's education. Mehagen, represented me well and also earned her attorney fee from the other party. Couldn't have asked for more!!

Cost me money during separation, didn't fight to have life insurance put into trust for kids during mediation, me ex is the beneficiary against my wishes. I specifically asked if I would be paying for my ex's s survivor benefit and surprise, upon my retirement I am. She was supposed to look out for my interests during a traumatic and confusing process and with the exception of the custody of my children failed. I am still paying for her mistakes, inattention to detail and poor communication.

I bought a property and I found so many documents that I look at, and of course I found all documents about custody form my child and how traumatic was to have a SERVICE LAWYER beside me. The reality is that when you don't have money, you have no other chances than put your head down and stand all her humiliations or stand up for your child and look for a paid lawyer. I did the second choice. Back at that time I didn't speak English as much as I do now. I felt sorry of myself reading her letters and her recommendations. It looks that I was talking with the enemy. Thanks God I took a Lawyer empathetic enough of a woman that suffer Domestic Violence fighting for a better future. Now, she went to Cornell University, she is a woman of honor and her dad absent as always. My daughter loves him because that is the way I raised her. Please be careful of who you hire. I understand that it is a free service for people under law income. However, it is important lawyer with some empathy.

Ms. McRae has been an amazing and dedicated advocate for us through the hardest and ugliest time of our lives. She fought for my children as if they were her own. There were late night calls, text and emergency actions that took her away from her own family and she did it without hesitation. It is a true honor that she has been willing to work with our family.
