Ms. Kim was amazing! I had an erroneous tax lien from DC government for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Not only did Ms. Kim aggressively advocate on my behalf, keeping me up to date through the whole process, she was able to get DC government to admit the mistake and withdraw their lien! I consulted with Sammy about a Tax Audit. The thoughtful advice and attention to detail I received resulted in no change in my return within 30 days of submitting information on my audit. Sammy is very competent about Tax laws. Unlike other attorneys, I was never pressured to hire them, in fact I was encouraged that I could handle this on my own. They are a very ethical firm and attorneys—very hard to find these days. Specifically, I was advised to make it easy for the auditor to review the material, offer specific narratives, organize material with tabs, slip sheets , numbers,for each sub item and also write a short response letter in the order of the asks and submit the information in a timely manner.

I consulted Ms. Kim twice for different property related questions. Ms. Kim is very professional. She is responsible for her clients and takes her clients seriously. She was prepared before the meeting and provided further information and documents after the meeting if needed. Both consultations from her addressed my questions well. The office environment is also welcoming.

I came to see Ms. Kim concerning the 10% US tax withholding issues while getting ready to sell my home before moving to South Korea. I was so confused by different advice from CPAs and realtors but Ms. Kim cleared my confusion and saved me the 10% of the sales proceeds! She patiently walked me through the US tax code and explained why such withholding did NOT apply to my situation. I had clear directions going into a settlement closing and got a confirmation that there will be NO withholding! Ms. Kim provided me over and above what I would’ve expected from a busy lawyer. My experience with Sammy Kim was a very positive, professional courteous, helpful and extremely efficient. And she speaks fluent Korean that could be more helpful, benefit to fully explain, answer all tax question who speaks English as second language.
