Mrs. Sequitta Banks made my fiancé and I students of her way of handling a case. Yes, it was our case but she made it her own. We had projects and things to find out concerning our case. She taught us how to own our case and know it like the palm of our hands. We had to do our research and implement the things discovered on the other party. Mrs. Sequitta Banks kept us honest and diligent. She is the Viola Davis in real life. What do my title mean? An active lawyer. I've work with many lawyers and they claimed being on my case. Later,I found it to be untrue. Being active means being a listener of my entire situation and following through with actions. Ms. Banks work my case as if it was her only case. I know that she had many more cases. I've witness her having two to three cases a week but never lost track of my case. Her prices was very reasonable and fair. She handled my custody case with common sense and her knowledge of the law. We all know that custody cases can be very emotional. Ms. Banks comforted me with her approach and her powerful presence. Her professionalism and her ability to access my case on what direction it needed to go was like a movie. Ms Sequitta Banks is very passionate about her work as a lawyer and operates in the court of law like Mike Jordan handle his business on the basketball court. I have worked with multiple attorneys while trying to establish custody of my daughter and have her name legally changed. I was dealing with a Father who was in another state and over time the goal had become impossible. I was very disappointed and hopeless to say the least... until I met Mrs. Banks. Our initial consult went very well. She listened, asked questions and within 30 minutes told me that she would help me get this done. I believe that most attorneys were resistant because of the work involved and the unfamiliar boundaries this would entail. Sequitta Banks was very different. She said that she had never dealt with a situation like this, but was not apprehensive about giving it a "Go". I knew when I hung up the phone that I had finally found the one that would see this through. When we got together to prepare for the court date- It was very obvious that she did all necessary research on her end and was completely "ready". When we showed up to the hearing- Sequitta Banks brought her "A" game to say the least. I was always concerned that my attorney would not truly "get" the circumstances and really understand where I was coming from. During the trial, when it was time for Sequitta to question my ex, she stood up and said "No questions your honor". I about fell off my chair in shock. Like... after all this- you are not going to grill him... I was beyond confused?? After the ruling (which was in my favor), we were walking out and I said- Why did you make that choice? She told me that through all of our conversations- she knew that the man that we were dealing with was a manipulator and she decided to not give him one extra opportunity to try and sway the Judge. This was genius to me. It was confirmed then and there that - Yes, she did truly understand. I hugged Mrs. Banks as we walked out and she seemed as genuinely excited as I was, for she knew the weight that this carried for me. If you watch Scandal then you will understand this- Sequitta Banks is DC's "real" Olivia Pope! If you don't watch- this just means that she is the one that you have been looking for!! :)

Mrs. Banks did everything for my divorce case. Mrs. Banks is not only an amazing attorney, she is also a sincere nice person. She paid close attention to every single detail. After my first time meeting her, I knew I could trust her. I appreciate how she puts up with my chattiness. I am very pleased with all the work she has done for me and my 2 children. The first time I met with Ms Banks, I thought she might not be tough enough for my case. She was very polite and sweet in the consult, took lots of notes and listened to me. Boy was I wrong. She was like a pit bull dealing with my ex huband who stole from our children and me. He was trying to get out of paying me child support and support and she did not back down even when his attorney used my job against me (I have to work long hours now and taking care of 2 kids is hard). Hello, My case was a complicated international custody case. Before I secured the services of Ms. Banks, I was working with an attorney that didn't show empathy for my case and was terrible at getting back to me. Then, I started looking for a new attorney and interviewed three family law practitioners. Of the three, Ms. Banks was the only one that showed compassion, competency and had a grasp of the facts of the case in our first meeting. During the entire process, the communication was great. Ms. Banks (or her Legal Assistant, Ms. Asghar) would follow up with me over the phone or via email, and they would always return my calls. Ms. Asghar was equally competent as she was the one dealing with service of process overseas. There were ups and downs during the process but during the hearing we obtained sole and full custody for my children which was more than what we anticipated. I hired Sequitta Banks, and her team when It was all most to late, I had made so many mistakes with another attorney and by representing myself that when we finally got to trial I was not allowed any witness and or documents, e-mails, pictures, etc. The other side had a high power attorney that was on the cover of magazines as the up and coming attorney of the year, and she had a three ring binder full of e-mails, and expert witness that testified against us. In the end we won 100% custody of my little girl. Seuquitta found other ways to get evidence introduced, and brought the truth to life.
