Have had to hire Tom Burcher on several occasions where I was wronged and had to defend myself. Tom took care of everything in a professional manor and his knowledge of the laws and the justice system in the area is probably one of the best in the Hampton Roads area. Needless to say after hiring Tom Burcher the outcomes in the court room were as exactly we thought and won the cases fair and square by the law. I have dealt with a complicated string of legal issues over the past few years and have worked with quite a few attorneys in the area as a result. Mr. Ballard or Matt as I call him represented me in a particularly important case and although I didn’t necessarily receive the result I was hoping for, I am confident that if I had gone a different direction things may have been significantly worse. I chose to hire Matt because of our interaction during the initial consultation. he did not rush me in any way, shape or form and spent close to an hour asking questions to make sure he fully understood my background and the events leading up the charges at hand. Once retained, I was surprised at the amount of time and effort he put into my case based on past experiences. As the trial came closer, new facts and evidence came to light that made things much more complex than we had initially anticipated. I assumed the initial cost we agreed on would no longer be sufficient, but when brought up , Matt declined my offer to pay more because he had given his word and was invested in just wanting the best result at that point. Bottom line is between my experience, and watching Mr Ballard in court with a few other people he has represented, it is clear that he has a passion for practicing law, genuinely cares for each of his clients, And is willing to do whatever it takes to get the best possible outcome for them.
