My wife and I recently asked Wakefield Law to help us formulate an Estate Plan. Over the course of a few months, Michael provided solid counsel and gave us the time we needed to make some very serious decisions. He was endlessly patient while explaining every aspect of our Estate Plan, to include our Trust, updated Will and Testament, Medical directive and Power of Attorney. He guided us every step of the way, and was incredibly professional and reassuring throughout the process. The peace of mind we now have regarding the future of our children is absolutely wonderful. We will continue to use Michael and the entire firm for our legal needs, to include reviewing leases, employment contracts, etc.

Shame! Shame! Shame!
This law firm and specifically C. Wakefield are the epitome of despicable.
I worked with a company called Banks to maintain my HVAC.
In November the unit began giving me issues.
I called Banks. Banks it seems made an agreement with another company; I shall call LR, to make the repair.
The work was done by LR and it was fully understood that Banks would be taking care of the payment.
In early March I received a letter from the Wakefield Firm explaining that they had been retained to collect the outstanding debt. This was the first I had heard it had not been paid.
I immediately called the Wakefield and explained the situation.
Even though the work had been done on my house the agreement and payment should have been made by Banks.
Wake told me that as the work had been done on my house, I was also liable to pay.
I spoke to Banks who in turn spoke to Wakefield to say that he would pay.
At one point there was even a conference call between Banks, Wakefield and I where Banks said that he would pay and admitted that it was his debt.
I again thought it was all taken care of - especially now that the Wakefield had spoken to Banks himself.
Not long after that COVID-19 shut down the world.
My employment and subsequent income were unfortunately affected by the pandemic but I will not complain.
Now that I am back at work and am finally catching up, I was served with a Warrant in debt by the Wakefield Firm, at 8am on a Monday morning, in front of my children.
It seems as opposed to going after the man who had openly admitted that it was his debt and that he would pay, they again went after me, the weaker party.
I have never had anything like this happen to me before, so I immediately called Wakefield asking what was going on. I said I have been served, has Banks been served these papers to which he sluggishly replied 'I don't know'
I immediately called Banks, who again assured me and subsequently assured Wakefield that he would pay, but could he pay in installments?
To which the answer was yes, but with a 6% interest charge and a 2.65% charge on every credit card payment.
I could not sleep.
I decided as hard as it would make it financially right now, I could not carry this burden on my shoulders and I would pay it off.
This morning I called C. Wakefield I explained the situation again. I was in all but tears.
I'm a single mother and with the pandemic finances are very tight at the moment, I asked if there was anything, any reduction he could help me with.
He said No, it was not in his control. Peculiar as it's his firm.
I begged please as you run the payment could you at least not charge the processing fee, to which he bluntly answered NO.
So here I am approx. $630 in debt for something that was not mine per initial agreement and all because these terrible people wouldn't go after the wrong party just the weaker one.
Yay! You won the case but totally lost as humans ... boo!
