The wose experience I've ever had with a law firm. SG LAW is rotten from top to bottom. They are lazy, rude, incompetent, irresponsible, and very dishonest. A corrupt group of charlatans pretending to serve their clients best interest. They serve there own self interest. Ryan Schmmalzle, I hope you know a good attorney... cause your going to need one.

I highly recommend Ryan, Christine and Megan for anyone looking for a legal team that is not only professional, responsive and smart but that actually cares about their clients. Finding myself in the midst of a very complex divorce I can’t be happier to know I have an entire team of amazing human beings who care about me and my family and truly wish the best outcome for my children. Their genuine empathetic and attentive approach is above and beyond the expectations I had for family and civil law. Call them, they seriously will have your back.

Christin is a passionate advocate for justice. My interactions with attorney Georgales have always been polite and she has made me feel heard and understood. Her attention to detail and organization of case material and effeciant use of time in communicating with clients is nothing short of excellent, I have entrusted her with my most valuable asset (My family) and she has not disappointed me in the least. Christin is not afraid to do the write thing even in the face of opposition and has the emotional intelligence and empathy to communicate with clients without seeming curt or rude. If you need an attorney you have found the very best one.

R Schmalze canceled on me the week of my court case to handle another case. Screwing me. Thanks man
Update: I was out of town and missed the case. A protective order was issued against me due to someone I barely know making crazy claims to undermine me in business. and now my firearms rights are lost. Please do not ever use this law firm. They are so terrible and will not show up to your case that they committed to.

Christin Georgelas and the team at SG Law are phenomenal. I was met with great empathy and professionalism toward my case and was quick to have it resolved successfully. I cannot recommend them(and specifically Mrs. Georgelas) highly enough!

I had the pleasure of using SG Law for my divorce.
Christin Georgelas was my attorney. She was caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and kept me informed of what to expect. She was the only attorney that really actually cared about my case and I have had a few lawyers..She took time with me and didn't just take my money like the others. If anyone is looking for an honest and professional good attorney look no further she's the best and I would definitely use her again if I ever need an attorney.

Ryan has a remarkable understanding and knowledge of the law. This paired with his insightfulness, honesty and professionalism has such a profound impact.
Ryan and the Firm are skilled, knowledgeable and truly do have a real understanding of verbal abuse, emotional abuse and including, but not limited to, narcissistic personality types.
SG Law, PLC has been outstanding, not only in their legal representation, but also their insightfulness, patience, communication and care. Their coordination and cooperation with each other has such a positive impact, and Karen and Megan are an integral part of this. Having suffered from abuse can make trust hard, and being heard and understood can be key to feeling safe. Ryan, Megan and Karen understand and embody these things.
Cost: I felt that the Firm only charged for what was necessary and beneficial to my case. I never felt taken advantage.

I found Christin through a recommendation of another Lawyer in Leesburg. She was just starting her firm. I was in a bit of a bind as my former attorney was moving firms to become Partner and had a conflict of interest. Christin took my case on short notice and quickly came up to speed.
Long story short, as soon as I started working with Christin I realized I never had a lawyer so responsive before. She would always reply to my emails within 24 hours and typically it was the same day. Her responses were always thorough and candid.
I had a messy situation with 2 cases in 2 different counties and she was able to get final orders in both that stabilized my time with my kids. Prior to the orders there was unilateral control and I can't express how thankful I am to finally have that over.

If you need to have your rights protected or simply be properly represented in or out of Court regarding any matter, that matters; Ryan Schmalzle and The SG Law Firm (Megan Houck is awesome) are the ones our whole family can count on. Always prompt, attentive, they listen, offer sound realistic advice and set proper expectations. From our Wills, Traffic Tickets and General advice. It is great to have the SG Team on our side. Thank you for all that you have done (and will do) for our family.

I needed family law assistance dealing with an extremely complex interstate custody and divorce situation that ultimately ended up going to trial. For over a year through discovery, depositions, and more Christin and Megan did an incredible job helping me to manage the case, put it all together, and finally present it to the court. If it wasn't for their hard work, dedication, and skill I would not have received the favorable decision I did.
The partners, associate attorney, and paralegals at SG Law are excellent and I can't recommend them highly enough.

I hired Ryan on as my attorney after the previous attorney I had racked up ridiculous amount of fees without having itemized invoices to provide for the work he had done. Long story short, Ryan did the same thing. When confronted with this, he failed or provide any documentation of an itemized invoice and had no explanation of what he was doing for “case prep” 3 hour increments, two hours, 4 hours and the list goes on. I called to question him about my bill and had concerns about what I was looking at and the time he spent speaking with me about billing concerns, WERE THEN ON MY NEXT INVOICE. I relayed to Ryan I did not wish to further my case any more with him, he continued working on the case and when it came time he calls my father to tell him he is 99% sure he can win this case and to continue keeping him on as counsel. Against my wishes he continues the case that I know longer was willing to further and on top of that goes behind my back and calls my father. Well, turns out he lost the case and managed to rack up another $12,000 on top of the $5,000 retainer we had previously been told it would cost. Now, I am sorry when your client is told that this won’t cost anymore than $5,000 how is it that you manage to rack up a bill of $17,000? All in all we ended up telling him we will only pay half of that bc he went against my wishes and betrayed attorney client Privilege by speaking to my dad and instead of just dropping the case as he was told he continued to further work on it, despite my wishes. We came to an agreement, so I thought bc he knew I had no interest in furthering that court case and we paid half of that. Which in all reality we were told we’d only be spending $5,000 in total. Which he managed to spend DOUBLE that and let me tell you, the opposing party’s lawyer did not manage to go above their $5,000 retainer when my lawyer managed to go up $20,000. He added an extra $3000-$4000 of working with a hired firm in Richmond bc he did not know how to handle the court of appeals court. Yet another thing I did not approve of nor did I know he was hiring another firm to do his work that he promised he was 99% sure he could win. I was already hesistsnt to take this on anyway and the fact that my lawyer who says he knows what he is doing is hiring another firm for the court of appeals bc he doesn’t know how to do x y and z, is very concerning. Now to add it all of this, I already had a distaste for what was going on that I was completely oblivious to all of the charges he was managing to rack up. At the end of it all we lost in the court of appeals after I was pursuaded AGAINST my own better judgment, AGAINST what I felt I did not want to do. Due to my lack of knowledge in the law and having good faith and trust that your attorney will lead you down a path that isn’t set up for failure, I ended paying about $13,000. And now after we came to an agreement that since he lead me down a misguided path that I was not willing to take the other $6,000 would be on him. He was unable to provide detailed analysis and documentation of all these random hours on top of hours of “prep and research.” With all of that and our agreement, I was just served in a civil lawsuit for “Warrant in debt, of $6,000.” Its amazing the audacity that humans have nowadays. I suggest you steer clear of this lawyer unless you want to be paying unreasonable ridiculous amounts of money then when faced to provide itemized detailed analysis of the work he was charging me for, come up empty handed. I am currently seeking counsel for a counter malpractice suit. Do your research before you hire this lawyer. Steer clear unless you want to be paying for work that was never done.
