My husband and I hired Mr. Sweeny in December 2011 to handle his worker's comp case. We had been referred to him by another local attorney and saw that he had rave reviews online. Needless to say, even with all the good things we had already heard about him, he exceeded our already high expectations. Mr. Sweeny was extremely professional and courteous and always took the time to answer all our questions - even if we asked the same questions again and again. He always made time for our emails, calls and office visits. Most importantly though his thorough knowledge of the state's worker's comp system and his handling of my husband's case was the key to us avoiding years of medical debt. Mr. Sweeny was the reason - we firmly believe - that my husband won his case. He truly cares about his clients and seeking justice on their behalf and we were so fortunate to have found him. Justice does not always prevail but it always helps to have the best attorney in your corner. We are very lucky to say we had both. When I/we went thru a previous Workmens Comp. injury for my husband with a local lawyer, we were severely disappointed and dismayed. Mr. Sweeny wrote the book interpreting VA WC Law and knows it inside and out. Every available resource is thoughtfully examined and if appropriate and supported, used. No stone is left unturned. He gives 110% even when away from the area, he is reachable. Try that with your Dr.!! Every action he takes is copied to you immediately. He handles many TBI (Traumatic brain injury) cases. These are complex and the clients aren't easy to deal with. In that respect he is a "saint" with patience and understanding. I feel blessed to have had him recommended by a very knowledgeable State level Nurse Case Mgr. in Disability Mgmt. His patience is remarkable and his knowledge of the system can't be matched.
