ATTENTION PLEASE!!
Mark Arthur’s law office has been practicing law since 1998! He is an Excellent Attorney and I Highly recommend him! I had an amazing experience with Mr. Arthur and would be remiss not to mention his beautiful, God fearing and caring wife Ms. Hume Arthur.
As a mother, you send your children off to college hoping that they’ll be safe. You can only imagine how worried I was getting a call that my daughter had gotten pulled over by a police officer and was threatened jail time ...Mr. Arthur successfully dropped my daughter's careless driving charges and all associated points. He displayed exceptional professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail. He kept me well-informed and reassured us throughout the process. He did whatever he could to help mitigate all problems and find a solution for the problem at hand. The morning of the trial, I was nervous calling the office to speak with his wife Ms.Hume Arthur. She prayed with me, then assured me she would follow up w/ any information she received. She took the name & number of the person who would pick my daughter up from the courthouse or jail once the process was over. Hume was very clear that if no one could do this task, she would. An amazing woman!
Mr. Arthur, Criminal justice attorney in Lynchburg is one of the best experts in his field. You can trust him and he's worth it! There’s only one issue I have and that’s the rating system of 5 stars, it's not enough! If it were possible he should receive ten out of ten stars.

I am deeply grateful to have discovered Mark Arthur’s law office through a Google search. After reading a number of positive reviews, I felt confident that I had made the right choice. Having been charged with reckless driving, I was unaware of the severity with which Virginia handles such offenses, especially since I am from New York. I was advised that the likely outcome would involve jail time, a suspended license, and a substantial fine. As I am in Virginia alone for school, this charge was particularly distressing for my family, who were understandably concerned. From the outset, I was fully informed about the potential consequences, yet the support I received from the office was nothing short of exceptional. The professionalism and organization were remarkable, and the sense of community they fostered was evident from our very first conversation. Mark Arthur not only worked diligently with me and my family to ensure we had the proper guidance, but his wife also played an integral role, offering ongoing support, prayers, and even the thoughtful gesture of offering to pick me up from court if I lacked transportation. Ultimately, the outcome far exceeded my expectations: my license was not suspended, the fine was reasonable, and I essentially received a penalty of community service. I am sincerely appreciative of the Arthur family’s dedication and the outstanding service they provided.

If I could leave a 100 star review I would!!! Where do I start? From the initial contact I made with this wonderful law office from the friendly staff very understanding and helpful all the way to Mark himself in his very professional very reassuring outlook on things and the pricing!! Very communicative has very fair pricing for the service provided and all the way to the very end helped each step of the way. Very knowledgeable in the laws and how things works and I am beyond happy that I hired him to be my attorney!! I hope to never need an attorney again but if I ever did I would chose Mark and his law office!! I could go on for hours about how good the experience was dealing with him and his law office but I will leave it at from the very moment me and him spoke I knew he was the lawyer I wanted and he didn’t even try to sell that to me it was just the overall knowledge he held along with his professional way of speaking with me and explaining things to me!! Again thank you so much not only to Mark but to your whole office!! Y’all are 100+ stars and beyond!!

A serious family matter arose that carried with it the potential for significant legal ramifications, we were unprepared and emotionally compromised. Gordon communicated the processes and procedures accurately and did so with compassion and empathy. With his counsel, we found ourselves in a position that would ultimately yield the best result for us. I highly recommend Gordon Peters Jr. and would hire him again.

The best way to describe Mark Arthur is with the following example:
In March of 2022, I requested a copy of my case file. I was met with resistance, for his office did not understand why I wanted it. The firm finally relented and agreed to give me the file, but said it would take a while to assemble because it was so large, mainly due to my letters. It was also here that I told his wife, Hume, again, that Mark had stated my case was not on his radar since he was only making $1500, and she assured he would never say such a thing.
On Wednesday April 6, 2022, I called to see if it was ready, and I was told no. On Thursday April 7, 2022, his paralegal, Chelsea, called and told me it was ready to be picked up. On Friday April 8, 2022, while en route to get my file, I was called by his office assistant, Lara, told that it was not ready. On the call, Arthur was patched in and told me that I would not be allowed to get my file, that Chelsea the paralegal had made the mistake, and that I was not allowed to show up to get it, insinuating that somehow I would be trespassing if I did (I ultimately had to call the police to see if it was legal that my attorney could bar me from this office, something they could not answer). I did not show up just to be sure. On Tuesday, April 12, I was called and told it was ready. I picked it up, and while I was there I apologized to Chelsea that she was put in the middle and thrown under the bus, something that she seemed to greatly appreciated as if it was not the norm. At this time, I also set a time to meet with Arthur in May.
Upon opening my file, the first thing to be found was the letter on company letterhead that is picture one. In this letter, the typed text asks for people to subpoena, and the written text asks for their addresses. As you will see, this is dated June 30, 2020; refer to pictures two through four, copies of the letters/notes IN THE FILE THEY GAVE ME showing they already had this information, (one from April 17, another from June 9) or at least the phone numbers of the people where Mark could have easily obtained said information himself (picture four is actually in his own handwriting from a meeting in April 2020, and pictures two and three are from a letter dated June 9, 2020, before this letter was said to have been sent). This June 30 letter from Arthur was supposedly sent via Legal Mail requiring my signature; however, I never signed for it, nor is there any indication that it was ever sent or received by any facility, questionable itself. When I met with Arthur in May, I brought up many things, including why his wife felt like he would never say that my case was not on his radar given what little amount he was making, to which he responded "That's dumb. She can look it up herself!", essentially throwing his wife under the bus as well. I asked why he didn't really follow what I asked and reminded him he works for me and should do what I ask, to which he stated "I was appointed by the state. I work for the state." I asked if I had paid him more would he have cared more, and he simply cocked that arrogant smile in agreement. Finally, when I asked about the letter dated June 30 and how no one knew existed, he stated this was a USPS problem, not his, and when I asked if it had anything to do with why I was not allowed to get my file, he asked me to leave his office and never come back.
If you disregard the above scenario, among others, and the fact that I was told had he cared enough and done properly by me, doing his due diligence and finding the Speedy Trial motion that was wrongfully denied by the judge that would have actually led to a mistrial (I have spoken to many lawyers and the state verifying this), and if you want a pompous, crass, better than you attorney who only cares about his bottom line, then Mark is for you, just be sure to remember at the first chance he will throw you to the wolves as soon as you question him.
(As a further note, picture five is included to show the difference in signatures between itself and picture four; one is not of his own).
