David is an outstanding attorney and extremely professional. He knows the law and the Prince William court very well! He took his time to explain everything to me and went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. I can not recommend him enough. I looked into several other attorneys before choosing The Daugherty Law Firm. The other firms were all about the quick dollar. I got LOTS of solicitations from other offices in the area making big promises with scare and sales tactics. David's firm is caring and professional!

I was charged with a DUI & a felony in Sept 2016. After firing my previous lawyer a co-worker recommended David to me. David was very honest and up front with what I should expect, he was also well known with the attorneys and prosecutors. David got my case continued twice and though I was almost ready to go to trial he was able to get my felony dropped. Although I wasnt drinking and driving I took a 20 day plea ONLY because I didnt want to go to trial and risk a felony. He also was able to get the judge to let me turn myself in a week later & some how I only ended up doing 9 days (better than 20). I am happy this is all behind me, I understand everyone has a different situation but he was very humble and even made me laugh a few times but most importantly he was affordable and I felt I could trust him. I never plan to go to court again but if I do.. I know who to call.

I don't really write reviews but I had to this time, Mike and Samantha did a awesome job, we all know how hard Virginia is on fathers getting full custody of their children. It was a stressful, long process, and time consuming gathering information and paperwork. At the end of the day it was all worth it, finally was able to get my daughter. Based on my experience I highly recommend Michael Daugherty and his team. Thanks again for everything!!!!!!

David Daugherty, Manassas, VA was hired by my son to represent him in a criminal case in which he committed a crime while under the influence of drugs. The drugs should have been taken into account and used as his defense. Daugherty charged $15,000.00 and did nothing to help my son in his defense. In fact, because of his lack of concern and knowledge in this type of case, my son ended up in jail twice. He convinced my son to take the deal the prosecutor was offering and led him to believe it was a good deal without telling him all the consequences of taking this deal that would be with him for the rest of his life. Fortunately my son was able to get his job back after coming out of jail after three months but is now homeless because of the charge and his record. I feel we were misled by him and he took our money and did not represent my son properly. I plan on filing a formal complaint against him. So I am warning you, do not use this fraud of a person who represents himself as a criminal attorney. You will be sorry.

First I want to say I posted this in the past when it initially happened but Don threatened to sue me and charge me more money if I did not take down the review. He stated that I had to go through the Virginia Bar if I wanted to voice a negative comment. This is a review. He is not on trial. I am an Army Aviator and have spent 16 years on Active Duty. I have deployed to Afghanistan and have dedicated my adult life to the service of this nation. Don Daugherty did a terrible job for me in my Pedente Lite hearing. My ex should have paid him for his performance. He very poorly represented me and I fired him the next day. It is my opinion of his services, and in my opinion he did a terrible job representing me and I do not recommend his services. Notice there is only praise on his google posts. The review process on google is not only for positive comments, it is also for people like me that have had a bad experience with his services. Don is a lawyer and this is his craft so I succumbed to taking down the post in the past. This time it will not be removed. Don's reasoning for me taking down the post was because he didn't get "Due Process" in the review. I did not get "Due Process" when he poorly represented me, and it is not for the Virginia Bar to decide my opinion on his service for me. That is what this google rate and review are for.
