Getting my first ticket in Virginia was not a good experience. Getting help from Mr. Leavitt was an excellent experience and relieve, very professional. It's not fun getting a ticket in Virginia - and never over 20mph (although I wasn't over the speed limit that much, I didn't know that reckless driving is a felony in VA!) By next day, you'll have about a dozen unsolicited requests for representation. Every lawyer living/breathing in that County will ask for your business - citing their ticket-clearing record. I didn't receive any such solicitation from L&M, PLLC. In fact, I reached out to my attorney for recommendations. He searched Lexis/Nexis and other legal sites and provided me with L&M, PLLC information/recommendation. I called and spoke directly with the Principal, who was courteous and didn't make a "sales pitch". I exchanged emails, asked for an engagement letter - which I subsequently signed after having my attorney review it. Throughout the process, they kept me informed, guided me to the right driving school, and submission of my Driver's Improvement Program (DIP) class. Suffice it to say, following their advice, I was able to have my case dismissed and record expunged. VA DIP class is really informative, and though it may sound onerous, it's absolutely worth taking (not to mention required when the Judge so stipulates). Even if you haven't received a ticket, it's an excellent class that re-calibrates your driving habits and adds a sense of safety/security we all tend to take for granted over the years.

In fact, go out of your way to make sure you hire them. Dan and his firm will go out of their way to provide you with solid legal counsel and get you the results you deserve. The beginning of February I was pulled over for speeding in Greensville, VA going 85 in a 70 mph area. The ticket I received was for reckless driving. Daniel Leavitt was amazingly helpful. He got my Reckless Driving citation for 82 in a 70 outright dismissed. I was issued a "reckless by speed" going 85/70 in Sussex Virginia. This was my first "speeding" ticket, but my record is not 100% clean. I was driving 84 in a 70 zone and was pulled over for Reckless so I did a little research on who might provide the best representation and it turned out to be Leavitt & Martin PLLC. The process was easy, I followed the the direction they provided and it all worked out. My Reckless was dismissed and I did not even have to be there in court. These guys are very good at creating the proper expectation and provide great representation so I highly recommend them.

I called to sue a court system. The representative on the phone, misunderstood what I was trying to communicate. I said, "You're not understanding what I'm trying to convey." Then he says, "I appreciated the call. I don't have time for this." So, I guess you don't have time to make money. The representative was extremely arrogant and lacks communication skills. It's apparent they only handle simple ticket matters. I would really pass on these lawyers if you're articulate and not speaking like a 3rd grader.

I was just represented by Mr. Leavitt, I was foolishly caught in VA doing 89/70. This was the first ticket I had ever received let alone a misdemeanor! I was referred to Mr.Leavitt, he gave me a realist expectation from the facts of my case. I was a little nervous about his fee, it was higher than I expected, but there were so many good reviews and I desperately wanted this lowered. He ended up getting the whole case dismissed! I only had to pay some court fees and my record remain clear! I couldn't have asked for a better result, I thought the best I'd get was it dropped to anything other than reckless driving. Mr.Leavitt was prompt and very respectful, he let me know as soon as possible what I needed to do and the result of my case.
