Sam took on our criminal case which could have rendered a catastrophic legal result. Without getting into the specifics of the case, the accused had an inappropriate relationship with a custodial minor. The felony and misdemeanor charges meant that the defendant was facing up to 24 years incarceration. But Sam had knowledge of system and the discernment to pursue a strategy which resulted in a small fraction of that time--less that a year. I will admit that I had doubts about his recommendations. But he proved to be absolutely correct and the outcome was better than anyone expected--including some of the state's own evaluators. .
