Happy O'Brien put our minds at ease during a difficult situation our family was faced with. He worked with us from the moment we called him, ultimately getting two major charges dropped from the case. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a hard-working and respectable lawyer. We know who we will call if our family is ever faced with hardships like this again. We can't thank you enough Happy, to both you and your team.

he didn't prepare me my for my trail whatsoever. as non native english speaker and taking in count stress of being on trial , he didn't bother even look at my case expect when he was selling himself as the consultation. he had his associate tell him what my case is about right before the court.
i filed for appeal and upon hiring more caring and competent lawyer , while on phone without even signing a contract , new lawyer was far more helpful
would not recommend

I went with this firm by recommendation of my family against my better judgement. I represented myself against Doummar & his client when I was 17. They tried to build a case against me with lies but I was armed with the truth. Ultimately their client committed perjury & their bogus charges where dismissed. Anyone roughly 17 years later I was dragged into a situation. I had the kind of wife who would attack me but when I’d tried to leave she would do something like bash her head against the door frame & call the police. I had never been in this type of situation before & it was terrifying. I ended up in jail repeatedly & had never been there before. My situation with the wife may have been terrible but jail was a nightmare. I was scared. I had documented everything she was doing. Even had video, pictures & loads of voicemails. Voicemails of her threatening everything that happened prior. At first I thought nothing of her reading books about serial killers & such but later I feared for my life. It was like one of those lifetime movies about black widows. I thought I had a leg to stand on but the system did everything to deny me justice buying everything she said hook line & sinker. That said I turned to Doumar & O’Brien. Happy was my main lawyer but Doumar would often assist & by that I mean be there when Happy blew off appointments with me. I sent everything I had to them to no avail. Happy instructed me while having a no contact agreement to bring my wife to the office to sign a statement to drop charges. I called the firm to say I was on the way. Happy wasn’t there as usual so Doumar answered. He freaked out on me asking why I was with her. I mean I didn’t want to do what Happy asked but figured they knew what they were doing. This was the run around I was given for $3500! This gets better...so being that this meeting broke the no contact agreement my wife ran with it & had my bond sent to revocation. Happy showed up & pulled out a piece of paper drawing a “T” & started asking questions like it was the first time we met. He was totally unprepared. I knew I was screwed & I was going back to jail until trial. The worst part is that my wife is super vindictive & had been hacking my emails and social media accounts to sabotage any evidence & had as well as posing as me to smear my name. Happy had everything he needed including a graphic video of her breaking into my parents house which I stayed while she got my house of ten years. She broke in looking for a fight ultimately getting arrested after attacking my 80 year old grandmother. After being locked up for months without even a visit while asking my family for more money I get to my trial day. The courts had given me a public defender for one of the charges I picked up which in contact with her at Happys direction where I picked up another assault charge. The public defender was ready to fight & actually listened to my words. He was ready but Happy was not. At least not to get justice for me. He wanted the easy buck and he sure got it. I didn’t understand the severity of my situation as I don’t hit women & I’m not violent. Anyone that knows me knows that. In fact they would call me when their boyfriends would cross a line as I am a pretty large person. None of that mattered to this situation. When I saw Happy he said “we’re in quite the pickle”. He told me I was looking at a possible 4 year sentence. I broke down into tears. Every day in jail feels like a week & each week a month. He recommended I take a plea deal & said I was would get out with time served. At the time that sounded great but he didn’t explain that these charges would be a permanent black mark on my record. I was pursuing a career in elderly care as I was my grandmothers caregiver for 4 years. Those dreams were completely dashed. We went to trial & he pretty much bypassed the public defender who was ready to fight. They accepted the plea deal suspending 2 years and 5 months leaving 7 to serve. Happy later offered divorce services @$3800. I passed obviously. ~Morgan

He might be a good lawyer but I’ll never know... all we got was excuses and a run around for $1500. I’ve had administrative assistance who are way more effective at getting things done than this law firm. I suggest you go find another attorney that doesn’t want to remind you about all his 150 clients as he is telling you he didn’t get what was promised done. Never went to court. Never left the office. I had to show up multiple times in person to get something to happen. Way too many people with law degrees to accept this level of service. You have been warned steer clear!

Not worth the money doesn’t call you back once he’s paid, mediocre lawyer with not much influence. Much better federal attorneys available in the area.
