William “ Happy” O’Brien, Esq. - divorce lawyer, My original lawyer failed to prepare for a hearing, and do his job which cost me some major retirement benefits. Happy took over and provided superior, caring and dedicated service. I admire him and wish he was the rule and not the exception in the legal profession.

This is my fourth time retaining Happy. He is genious in a courtroom. It is amazing to watch him in action. Happy has identified issues with process followed numerous times for me and today he took the time to call and negoitate on my behalf with the Commonwealth's Attorney's office, explaining some issues and brokering a compromise. I am so thankful for Happy, Alex and his entire staff at the new firm of Shepperd & O'Brien!

Did not go over case with me until 15 min prior to court. Very busy. Had 4 other court dates the same day. Was convicted of DUI. Pointless to even have a lawyer. He did not help my case. Still spent 5 days in jail. Once released he refused to return my phone calls or text. I will be a filing a Complaint with the bar association. I paid for a service. NOT SATISFIED AT ALL.

Super money hungry. That's all he's worried about. He did nothing for me forcing to retain new council. (Who got the job done) and now he won't give me a refund. If you don't feel like being snaked then do not hire Obrian. Your Welcome.

YOU SIMPLY CANNOT HIRE A BETTER ATTORNEY!!! My husband was arrested for a DUI 3rd and in the end, he ended up with a $350 fine, no jail time (even though he had been held for 2 1/2 months) and only 2 misdemeanors and 2 non-moving traffic violations. Happy took the case, provided absolutely excellent representation, and treated us as people and not part of the 'cattle herd'. Worth every penny...and such a good man!

I was pulled over for doing 45 in a 25 and not wearing a seat-belt. I didn’t want any points on my record, Happy made that happen. I had to take a very easy driving class. He made me feel included on what was happening. I would recommend O’Brien to anyone for traffic violations.

Happy has to be the best DUI Defense Atty in Hampton Roads He was thoroughly prepared and aggressive with my defense He was able to keep much of the Commonwealths evidence suppressed. This was huge in winning this case! He was clearly better than the Commonwealth and it showed. The case was won even before closing arguments occurred. His knowledge of the law was evident and his mastery at trial was crucial to a total acquittal I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for aggressive defense!

Happy is the man! From day one he was on his A game. His knowledge and courtroom demeanor cannot be beaten. Always kept me up to date and always available if i had any questions. We met at his office when needed and discussed a game plan and executed it. He was honest and up front about what I should expect, and then delivered me a dismissal. Highly recommend! Hope to not have to use him again but if it ever happens, he is the first call.

I have used Mr Doummar and Happy several times but Happy has always stuck by my side and has got me out of some terrible situations. Mr Obrien saved my life i brought back the same charge 4th off and violated alot good behavior. I thought my life was over Mr Obrien got me time served at sentencing and there was no way i thought that was possible. He saved my life, i have used several other big name lawyers in va beach no one is better than Happy Obrien i highly recommend if you have anything to deal with courts to go with Happy Obrien i have used him three times and he has never let me down. He is well worth the money.
