Mr. Karpov is an excellent attorney! To the point, quick, easy, and doesn’t waste your time! Very professional and knowledgeable at what he does. 2 years ago I was looking for an attorney to represent a family’ member as I was scrolling down I saw Mr Karpov name and his reviews are very good as I read them. Mr. Karpov is an amazing attorney! After several appearances on one case he remained calm and cool. He is very thorough, communicated well and often handled everything so I didn't have to worry and take time off work. Mr. Karpov cared about his client and if I had any questions needed to be answer he’d answer them. We thank you very much!

I had hired him in the past for minor offenses, but this time, it was a dui. He did not prepare, he didn’t even show up on time for my hearing, he was not ready to ask questions about marijuana intoxication, and he even tried to charge me more money at one point. He’s not the same man I hired 2 years ago. He has let the money go to his head. That’s no different from most Virginia Beach lawyers, though. I feel like I could have gotten the same outcome representing myself or having a public defender. The only thing that was challenging was getting him to listen. I sent him many resources on marijuana intoxication that he did not seem to even read. We had no game plan going to court. There is no excuse to not be on time and present at the time of a client’s hearing. I was the one who had to speak up on my behalf to not receive jail time.

I chose Mr. Karpov due to all the outstanding ratings and comments on here. 16 years of driving and this was my very first run in w the law. I was charged with reckless driving by speed (85/55) and Mr. Karpov assured me that he can most certainly help as he deals w this often. Being that I had nothing on my record, Mr. Karpov was confident he could get it reduced. Unlike most lawyers who advised me to come back down to VA (I’m from NYC), do some community service, and a calibration on my car, Mr. Karpov didn’t believe any of that was necessary. Because “I think it’s dumb to do community service for a community that isn’t Va Beach.” “Your car is fairly new, I don’t think you need a calibration.” Honestly, that should’ve been red flags for me but again due to the 5 star rating on here, I figured, he does have a point and it seems he wins most of his cases so I decided to listen to him. Not only was I found guilty but now I have a criminal record for something so stupid. Any other state and it would’ve been a regular speeding ticket, not a damn misdemeanor charge. I’m disgusted with the state of Virginia and I’m even more appalled at how I spent a good amount of money on an attorney who did absolutely nothing for me. To top it off, he said I could get it appealed but then I’d have to pay him again for the second trial. Didn’t even try to sound empathetic like he wanted to truly help me, just wanted more money from me. Talk about greedy. I hope your greed eats you alive sir. Edit: in response to his reply: misleading and unfair? How are you honestly going to be mad at the facts that I stated? You literally told me all those factors were unnecessary therefore I took your advice and didn’t do them. You even tried to butter me up and say that the other cases before mine also did community service and it didn’t help their case regardless. “Idk the judge must’ve been having a bad day. She might’ve been fighting with her husband, who knows? She was just really harsh on everyone in court.” As if I care for anyone else’s case. And for you to have the audacity to imply that I should be grateful that I didn’t have to drive back down and got a low fine. Sir, I would’ve much rather driven there to appear before the judge (and you), pay a higher fine so long as it was reduced to a regular speeding ticket. Because at the end of the day, who wants a misdemeanor charge on their criminal record? That is what I’m most disappointed about. A criminal record that will never go away. But for you, you brush it off like it’s nothing. If you really wanted to help me, you would’ve worked harder for my case because after all, and I quote, “this is an easy case.”

I couldn't recommend Attorney Karpov enough. He is a straight shooter and calls it like it is - while truly caring about his clients and supporting their interests. Mr. Karpov has always gone above and beyond for myself and my family (without charging an arm and a leg) and always succeeded on all our legal fronts.
