Ms. Bowers is a thoroughly professional attorney and takes her cases seriously. She is honest and genuinely cares about getting justice for her clients. She helped me through a very difficult time in my life when my ex husband of 22 years was taking me to court over something I was not guilty for. She did the research, found other cases that were in common with mine and guided me in what evidence i needed to prove my case. I would highly recommend her and her very organized paralegal, Pam. They are a dream team.

Our family loved working with Catherine. Not only did she thoroughly understand Virginia law and research our case particulars, she has an incredible working knowledge of the Dept. of Social Services and custody/adoption process. Her attention to detail and excellent communication assisted us through a very difficult and emotional process. We have now used her services on several legal matters and highly recommend!

Do not hire this lawyer unless you are a professional at dealing with lawyers. ESPECIALLY IN FAMILY LAW MATTERS INVOLVING CHILDREN.
I am/was new to court and she did not provide specific advice nor direct answers to my questions, nor did she provide me with any understanding of what I could expect. She once failed to call for a scheduled phone conference - without an apology, without a reschedule, without any word at all. She seemed to listen to and take at face value anything the opposing lawyer said although I presented factual evidence to the contrary. She appeared unfamiliar with the order in place, and challenged me on a detail until she read it herself, while I kept insisting my interpretation on the phone with her. (And despite my emails of explanation and detail sent days before.) She contradicted statements she made during in our consultation weeks and months after I hired her, without explanation or reason, without even acknowledging that she had made contradictions. She initiated Discovery (against her previous statement of "try to avoid Discovery" because of the related expense) without much explanation to me despite my questions, and without a court date. She then failed to assist me in answering the opposition's requests despite my continued pleas for help - a firm paralegal called me two days before it was due to assist me in editing what I had sent in, and after that paralegal told me that my signature could be sent in later, my lawyer asked me to fax a signature within 3 hours of the deadline. I was lucky I saw the email while I was at work, and even luckier I could locate a notary and fax machine in time.
Most of my time and money was spent trying to argue my own case with my own lawyer instead of getting advice and guidance from an experienced professional based upon the facts I was providing her via emails, journals, detailed notes, etc. I paid other lawyers and psychologists for their advice in generating anything for my case.
Unless you are knowledgeable about court procedures and processes, and know exactly what to expect or ask from both your lawyer and the courts - I would CERTAINLY NOT hire this lawyer.
