I can attest that Mr. Vance is an excellent attorney. Given a brief summation, he was able to regain my visitation with my granddaughter . High praise for Mr Vance!!!

If it were possible to give zero stars, this would be a zero. My daughter hired Ms. Devon Humphreys of this firm to handle a custody issue. During the course of her representation, she gave late and erroneous advice that resulted in serious, negative results in my daughter's case in addition to costing a ridiculous amount of money. On the day of trial, Ms. Humphries withdrew because we wanted an explanation for a late change in advice that she had no explanation for and chose to withdraw instead. After the withdrawal, several attorneys suggested that the conduct in this case could be considered malpractice. Ms. Humphries advised my daughter to compromise her claim for terms that were far less favorable than those eventually achieved by new counsel. Save yourself the time and money and look elsewhere.

Mr. McGuire was my divorce attorney. He and his office were overall very personable and respectful. My divorce was contentious, as most are, and James handled each frustrating exchange with a calm that carried over- resulting in me feeling relaxed and confident about the end game. You will spend a good deal of $$ here, that being said, he and his office have a great reputation for good reason. He is patient, knowledgeable, responsive, has incredible listening skills, hardworking and advocated for me and my children. Areas to improve on are perhaps… stocking a bourbon bar for those not so great moments of break-down or there paying his bill or even a celebratory “cheers to getting your life back lady”. Seriously—these situations have no winner, it’s a zero sum game. However, I highly recommend. I enjoyed James’s personality and humor & his assistant, Tanya is an absolute delight to work with. I hope I never need him again as my pockets are quite thinned, but I am pleased with the outcome-smiling while typing this.

Mr. McGuire was fantastic and the best divorce attorney. He was thorough, prepared and knew how to approach each step of what ended up being a 2 year journey. He provided much needed guidance during a very difficult time in my life. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Tanya Snyder. Tanya was kind and helpful during the process and helped set my mind at ease.

Mr. McGuire is the absolute best! I was so impressed with his level of professionalism, accuracy, and promptness. I found comfort in knowing that our case was in such knowledgeable and capable hands. Not only he is an excellent Attorney, but he also truly cares about his clients and works hard at achieving the best outcome, all while remaining very kind and genuine. I am beyond grateful to have had his representation. His assistant Tanya is equally just as amazing. They were both prompt in their responses and were extremely patient and understanding. I never felt rushed or pressured. I would highly recommend this Firm and would definitely use them again, should the need arise.

Peter Buchbauer is simply the best. He and his very adept team skillfully guided me through a very challenging 1 and 1/2 year journey to divorce. At every twist and turn, Mr Buchbauer communicated clearly, compassionately, and pragmatically with me. I was kept up to date, was involved in strategic decisions regarding the case, and made fully aware of best and worse case scenarios. He prepared me. Great service if in need of a family law group

Divorces shouldn't have to be as painful as they are. Unfortunately, I learned over the last 18 months that when emotions, finances and children are involved, it was inevitable. Being faced with the unfortunate, I am able to resoundingly say that there is no one other than Jim McGuire of Buchbauer & McGuire who I would have wanted to represent me throughout the process. He is kind, calm, competent and understands how to artfully navigate what is nothing less than an excruciating process for anyone to have to endure.

Worth every penny, Mr. Buchbauer is the best lawyer in Virginia as far as I’m concerned. If you’re considering using him or his team as your lawyer I would 10/10 recommend, he helped me get sole legal and physical custody of my son and his office team were always so kind and helpful.
