I recently had the opportunity to work with Van Hooser & Aguirre, P.C, and I must say that the entire experience was seamless, well-executed, and thoroughly explained. Given the sensitive nature of divorce proceedings, I appreciated the staff's professionalism and dedication to making the process as smooth as possible. From the initial consultation to the finalization of my divorce, the entire team was extremely helpful and responsive to my needs. They were always available to answer my questions and accommodate my scheduling requests. I found the retainer rate to be fair and competitive compared to other attorneys and law firms in the area. I signed up for a 30 minute consultation on the VA Bar website and chose this firm in order to have some help on a pending child support case. I must say this is the most unprofessional and unresponsive law firm I’ve ever used. I sent an he documents I have and they ignored it for a week only to call me and say we won’t talk to you until you go to the court and figure out every paper for this case and then send it. Last time I checked that is the lawyers job upon retaining. The purpose of my consultation was to get a better understanding of what to do and make a game plan and hopefully hire them to do more. They make you fill a form out and then will not even speak to you without all documents???? This is a consult. We can get in the weeds if I decide you’re worth my time as an attorney. A consult is for getting to know each other and seeing if we are a good fit for the case at hand. I would not recommend anyone using this firm. If they are this way on a consult they are probably worse after hired.

Do not let the random and sporadic negative reviews deter you from seeking assistance with this firm. I worked with Christina in a very high conflict custody/visitation modification. She listened to me every time I needed to vent and remained calm and collected when I was getting upset. Her active listening skills are beyond reproach. I am so happy that I chose this firm for these issues. Christy was everything I needed and more in a lawyer, she was attentive, patient, professional, honest, and open. I never felt like I was a burden to her and felt so supported and empowered by her at the same time. Thank you so much for your guidance and expertise. Please do not try to use this firm. They have a very rude office staff. If you are a MetLife legal plan customer they will toss you aside because they dont make the same amount of $ that someone walking in on the street. Tell them you're using your MetLife legal benefits and you are suddenly a "wrong fit"

Kate and her entire team were professional, excellent and timely communicators, and knowledgeable about my legal issues. During my experience with this law firm, I found Kate Van Hooser and her team to be dishonest, unethical and incompetent. I would not recommend using this law firm. I did not feel like a client going through a divorce, this law firm kept doing busy work and asking me to refill my account balance. I spent 10k on absolutely nothing but filing different motions to request defendant and her attorney to cooperate. The law firm doesn't provide a statement the month she uses 90% of the balance claims she didn't have to all the sudden she's "not required". After 10k spent there has been no impact, no trial, no face to face or virtual meetings, everything has been email and very informal. DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY

I didn’t feel they did enough for my case and overall poor outcome. Also, it speaks volume that you have your billing/admin employee provide your firm a review.

I’ve been a client of this law office for both child custody and support related matters on 3 occasions in the past 6 years. They came highly recommended from other attorneys in the area for domestic relations. The work they performed in my cases was top notch. They were always quick to respond to my communications. The attorney listened, learned, and knew my situation from every angle. She provided sound advice in a no-BS manner. She held opposing counsel accountable for their missteps. She always came to meetings and court on-time and highly organized, tabbed, indexed, labeled, etc. In the courtroom she presented the case clearly, professionally, and aggressively advocated on our behalf. I can’t recommend this office enough for their hard work.

She knows how to linger on the case for herself to make money. I spent 24k until I fired her and got a new attorney. She has no pull in the system. Do not waste your time or money here.

Very unprofessional. Cancels appointments at last minute and not very helpful. I'd advise seeking another attorney before contact this firm if you need assistance timely. I called this firm to schedule a consultation regarding a court order that my husband has in place. The legal insurance is in my name and i spoke with the receptionist and scheduled the appointment and sent the info. I have the email thread as confirmation. My complaint is that our appt was cancelled last minute due to the attorney not reviewing the info that was sent until an hour before the appt. We informed them that there were safety issues and we were immediate need of legal advice and the appt was still cancelled. So...as I initially stated if someone is looking for legal assistance timely, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!!!
