We had SEVERAL questions regarding an easement on a property we were in the process of buying. Days away from signing the closing documents and we started to feel like we might be making a bad financial decision. We spoke with Dexter and he was able to give us an abundance of information to not only help us better understand the easement, but next steps we should do before signing to make sure everything was good. I feel as though my representation by Stephanie M. was inadequate. During the “zoom” mediation she had little to say, making insufficient impact. Her closing statement was weak, & she used no verbiage that she had used in the consult when agreeing with me. I was very disappointed then. Followed by complete frustration upon receiving a statement for an additional substantial UNEXPECTED amount. When I called with frustration, the receptionist offered to read an itemized bill that included a “follow up” email I was charged for. That follow up email was about a sentence long, where Stephanie admits she did not feel good about the mediation. We lost our plea. And the authorities responsible for the ruling waited until late in the final day they had to respond. I emailed her earlier in that day making a statement that we should have asked for a “by when”. She NEVER responded. Just a large bill ONE MONTH LATER. I paid the additional fee but I do not recommend using Stephanie’s services, I could have been just as effective or ineffective for that matter on my own.

I highly recommend Hillary Dawn for legal advice at Van Siclen Stocks & Firkins, I used Hillary for legal services concerning a complex issue involving my elderly Mother and siblings. I found her to be compassionate, knowledgeable and insightful. I hired John Stocks several months into my divorce after I fired my first attorney. I interviewed many attorneys and did a LOT of research. I picked John because he told me the truth to my face, even if it didn't benefit him (or me). He always told me what the Judges perspective would be based on his extensive experience which helped me see what he needed to do his job. Other attorneys seemed to over promise and sugar coat things, he never did that. I hired an attorney who knows the law, handle the crazy and help me navigate everything!! He also caught all the mistakes that could have been huge impacts for both myself and my children financially, emotionally and legally. John was always quick to respond and would also text me if needed, I should add he was so great at having late night zoom calls with me after my children were asleep. He is also really funny and made me laugh which was an added plus on the days things felt overwhelming. Another thing that was very important to me was that throughout my entire 18 month divorce, everything that was done on my side was done honestly, ethically and legally. I feel good knowing I have nothing to hide. Another thing that you won't get with other attorneys is the huge network of trusted and connected references he has. John would connect me to someone he knew and each and every contact would help me like I was their relative. People in related fields would comment how great of an attorney he is, and I always felt so protected. I personally don't think anyone wins after divorce, but I am glad that it is over and that I had John with me through the hardest part of my life. If you know you will be going through a very difficult divorce I might suggest hiring a divorce coach in addition to John, so he can focus on what he does best, the law. John was the best decision I ever made and though he was a bit outside of my comfort zone at times, I have a lot of respect for him and the work that he does. Watching the way he supported me and took care of me and my girls throughout the legal process made a big impact on me and our lives. I am forever grateful for his partnership and services. I am glad I know who to call should I ever need an attorney again.

John Stocks has provide legal advice to me on many occasions. He is a true professional who is always looking to do what is right for his client. John is very responsive and has very friendly staff.

He represented me for misdemeanor for four months Never filed a motion on my behalf. He did not present the Court the photo he showed me that exhonerated the charge. İ disputed his $32K fee so he sued me himself in Superior Court charging his bloated fees for sueing me, which is against Rules of Professional Conduct. The King County Superior Court Judge denied me Discovery and awarded him $70K in fees at Summary Judgement, included his boated time for suing me. Never gave me credit for the $12K İ had already paid. He got the first $70K from sale of my house. That is the kind of attorney you should avoid at all costs.
