If you are in need of a lawyer that knows the ins and outs of QDRO and Federal Pension plans, as they relate to divorce, then look no further than Jonathan Hansen. My divorce was finalized more than 15 years ago and I was awarded 50% of my ex-wife’s federal pension. Fast forward to March 2013 I find out my ex conveniently forgot to let me know she retired in 2009. After dealing with my original divorce lawyer, to find out why I wasn’t getting a pension check, I discovered he knew almost nothing about QDRO; I went on a search for someone more knowledgeable. Three lawyers later I thankfully found Mr. Hansen. I even had one attorney tell me he thought the “statute of limitations” had expired and I would be wasting my money pursuing my judgment. Mr. Hansen told me it might be difficult getting her to pay me for the prior four years but he knew we could at least get the monthly pension checks started. I’m very happy to say Mr. Hansen was not only successful with getting my monthly pension checks but he was also able to get my ex to pay me a lump sum for the past 4 years plus interest and court awarded attorney’s fees. Needless to say his fees were not excessive or extraordinary for this highly specialized work and I would recommend him for anyone looking for a lawyer with knowledge of Federal government pension plans.

My divorce just got finalized today and I couldn't be more grateful to Jon for all of his help this past year. Going through a divorce with a small toddler on hand can get quite stressful. Jon was very patient with me, answering all my minor questions promptly. He is very professional, respectful, experienced and extremely knowledgeable in Family Law. He paints a realistic picture and explains all possible outcomes. I knew I was in good hands as soon as I met with him. I am also thankful to Jon for being efficient. He took care of things quickly and responded to all my emails and phone calls promptly when time was of the essence. In his closing arguments I felt that Jon was actually fighting for me, not simply trying to win the case like you would expect with most attorneys. Mr Hanson handled my uncontested divorce in a professional courteous and understanding manner.He explained thoroughly all parts of the process in a precise but easily understandable manner.He was especially helpful when I needed to have the divorce decree expedited for another process and he kindly walked the papers through personally on the day the final court signing.I highly recommend his services and would use him again.

Having to go through divorce is not easy but his help is much appreciated. I had to go to his office only once and able to manage rest on e-mails. Easy and convenient.
