When a family member suddenly passes away and they didn't have an estate plan, probate becomes a necessity. Which is why this process can be extremely confusing and time-consuming. My mother passed away when she lived in another state from my sister and I. I reached out to a few lawyers to see if they could help and advise on our probate issues.
