Save your 5k, and KEEP LOOKING. Regrettably I hired him, and it was such a horrible idea. So unprofessional, his entire office is a disaster, and he has very poor social skills.

Bob is the best! I have hired him several times and each time he got the job done! He is effective and fair!

I first spent over $5K on the "Best in Bellingham" who inhaled all of it and did NOTHING! A mover told me in passing that there was a guy in Bellingham that never loses. I called Robert as they carried my stuff out of the house. He took my case, put a stop to all of her lies, made her face reason, a miracle to say the least. He cost less for the year of great service than the "Best" did for 5 weeks! Do yourself a favor and call Robert first!

Not only does Mr Och have cool hair, he and Candace get the jobs done. I hired him for a divorce and custody case, and I never had to second guess them or felt the need to worry with them handling all the details and making my case. He's worth saving for and hiring first. He never tried to talk me out of fighting for what I wanted and he understood my resolve to win. Hire him and know that his loyalties never waiver away from his clients. His hair is pretty cool too.

Bob was the third lawyer I had paid well over several thousand dollars to and thank God I did! From his reaction to hearing my story the first time we met (outraged at the other party for keeping my daughter from me for over four months) all the way through our long phone conversation weeks after court had been settled... Bob was a honey badger working in my corner. I had a lot that could have created some bumps in the road in regards to my case, and Bob was upfront and honest with me at all times. If I made a suggestion which he didn't agree with or he didn't feel we would have a good chance of winning the argument. . . He told me not to waste my money. Some people may take offence to being told No by someone they are paying. . . but Bob knows his stuff and I'd put away or take out my wallet without hesitation whenever he asked it of me. I am still currently working with Bob as my daughters mom is never short of 'horrible ways to undermine' . . . and I would, in the highest regard, recommend you hire Bob Och to represent you in court. Don't waste thousands on the wrong lawyer when the right lawyer is right here.

I find it odd to see poor reviews of Mr. Och's practice. Family law is a tough, emotional roller coaster for everyone involved. I have hired a lot of lawyers once; however, I hired Mr. Och twice. Both times, I got what I put into the case; and, what I asked for. A good attorney is busy and does not have the time to pick your brain, find out your life history, figure out what you should do, and then convince you of this. I found a little common sense and general courtesy works wonders with Robert and Candice. Robert has plenty of time to deal with your case WHEN HE CALLS YOU; therefore, do your homework and be prepared for his call. It is foolish to think your going to call an Attorney with over 20 years experience in one area of law and get him on the phone with undivided attention. For all the little things that don't get expressed on the phone, send an email. For paperwork, use the drop box in the evening. Robert Och is a pro that has been doing family law in Whatcom County for 24 years. He knows what he is doing and likes to win. He was professional, confident, experienced, prepared, kept me informed, and he was always honest with me. I strongly suggest retaining Robert Och for family law matters if you are serious and realistic about your case. If you are not going to do the work to win or have unrealistic expectations, save yourself some money and hire someone with less experience.

He is easy enough to get along with and likes to talk to help you feel comfortable. Unfortunately, when the pressure comes and things don't go his way in court, he doesn't fight. As stated by someone else before, if you want your ex to come out on top, hire him. I spent a lot of money to have him do something I could have easily done on my own. If you really want to win, I would look elsewhere. Also, if you expect your attorney to stay in contact, he won't. I always had to call.

I hired Mr. Och for an adjustment to a parenting plan. Right from the start I had difficulties getting a hold of Mr. Och and throughout the whole process I was never informed of what to expect, never given advice and requests I made were ignored. The paralegal was almost always available to answer the phone, but gave horrible advice and would often conflict her own advice. She usually did not want to give me the time of day and would often try to rush me off the phone, sometimes telling me she would relay a message to Mr. Och before I had even given her the message to relay. After a year and a half with Mr. Och, I somehow managed to pay him $10,000 with nothing to show for it. If you are considering hiring Mr. Och as an attorney, you should rather look into representing yourself, as this is what you will end up doing anyway. I should have paid more attention to the other reviews that warned me that Mr. Och would not put the necessary effort into my case and would not be prepared when the time came. Hire this lawyer if you want your ex to come out on top!

I would 100% recommend Mr. Och. I hired him in my divorce case and he was absolutely fantastic. Took care of everything he needed to. He is a straight shooter and tells you like it is. He helped me with seperation, divorce, child support, child custody, judgements, and more. Not only would I recommend him to others - I DO recommend him to others. I have had Bob as my attorney for 7 years now and would not work with any other...

I hired him to deal with DSH arrears my X wrongly and dishonestly filed against me. It turned out he did not know anything about the child support adminstrative law. He represented me in the hearing (which sucked up all my savings), which turned out to be a court that could not rule on my situation, as only a Superior court judge act on. He even double billed me, which I had to call him on. So as it turned out I had needed to plead my case in superior court, not in a administrative court, which you think your lawyer would know. Mr. Och billed up on all the hours (of which I asked for a detailed billing statement that I never received) on the not needed administrative court dealings and thus wanted more money. I then went to Superior court on my own with no attorney. I was able to research and find out answers that Mr. Och was too incompetent and unknowlegable to properly represent me. He is to what "lawyer" jokes derive, as he is a true lawyer in that fact. To sum it up he not help my me at all and was a complete waste of money! Do not hire him!

He is currently my attorney and he has so far done nothing but give me bad advice. He is impossible to get ahold of.

Robert Och came across as a likable guy and a knowledgeable attorney. Unfortunately, those qualities were only present in his office. In court, he appears unprepared and tired. If you want a hunting buddy who charges by the minute, go with this guy.
