Kyle was the patent attorney for AEON Law when our our small technology firm needed to file a patent.
The process started in 2011.
From the start we found Kyle to be very difficult to communicate with. He tends to talk more than listen and it is difficult for him to grasp complex technical concepts. He seemed to erroneously hang on to incorrect technical descriptions even after instructing him he missed the relevance.
He was not diligent in forwarding correspondence from the patent office and in one case allowed the the application laps. I believe he had difficulty listening to the examiner's recommendations on how to modify the application to get allowances. Our firm spent a lot of money and Kyle could he not get the job done.
In 2016 after much frustration we moved our application to another firm. After reworking Kyle's work we received the patent in 2017.
He is a nice guy but did not do a good job for us.

I am the business development manager for a small Washington based company. Kyle Flindt was referred to us by our lawyer to secure a patent for our invention. We spent several years developing our product and had secured a provisional patent in 2008 through an online service. We marketed our product through our website, tradeshows, newsletters and mailings. It generated a lot of interest but very few sales. As our time limit on the provisional patent approached we were faced with a difficult decision, spend additional thousands of dollars pursuing a full patent on a product that may not be successful or abandoning the project. Shortly before the deadline date another company expressed interest in our product and sales started to pick up. We made the decision to proceed with the patent. This is where Kyle Flindt stepped in. I met with Kyle to discuss our situation including our budget. Kyle and I agreed to a fee for his services. He immediately went to work. His dedication, knowledge and professionalism were most impressive. He immediately grasped the concept of our product and made recommendations on how to word the documents to protect ourselves with future applications that we were not considering at this time. He completed the paperwork and literally drove it to the post office to insure a midnight postmark the day before our deadline. What is truly remarkable is that he completed all this in less than 5 days. I am absolutely convinced that there are very few patent attorneys who would show that level of dedication to a new client. I have told many of my colleagues about Kyle’s services and will continue to enthusiastically recommend him. We are currently in the planning stages of a new product that will require Kyle’s legal expertise in the future and I’m looking forward to working with him again but, next time I promise to give him more than a week to do his job.

When it came to selecting an attorney to provide Intellectual Property protection for my startup company, I had to draw on my experience at bigger corporations. Kyle Flindt had an advantage out of the gate: he had provided IP legal support to larger firms in the area so I was familiar with his processes.
What truly impressed me was Kyle's ability to scale across a broad range of clients and a broad spectrum of IP protection work. He was truly flexible to work in "startup mode" with us: he came to our meetings, tolerated our scheduling challenges, and engaged with us on a deeply technical level to help us creatively protect our IP.
Most importantly, he provided us great value for our dollars spent. As a frugal startup in tough economic times, we had to ask Kyle to work on a budget. He was up front about costs with us, stayed on budget, and provided more value that we had expected over the long haul. Because of this, I'll be turning to Kyle again with future businesses... large and sma
