After 6 months of living life with a DUI (operator control) charge hanging in the balance, my case has ended with a win with my DOL hearing and a not guilty verdict at the end of trial. When I was searching for the best lawyer I could find, Nate stood out to me in a big way. Super lawyer is an understatement! Not only is Nate sharp, diligent and a lawyer that any prosecutor should be concerned about challenging, he is compassionate, cares deeply about his clients and I felt as though I had a friend by my side throughout the process. My case was unique in that the prosecutor wouldn’t budge an inch and the judge shut Nate down at EVERY TURN. It was alarming to watch this unfold yet Nate handled these setbacks with a very calm yet firm response to them all. It just made him even more determined to win my case. The jury deliberated for approx. 20 minutes and came back with a not guilty verdict. We were able to speak to four of the six Jurors and when asked what swayed them to not guilty, they were unanimous that it was Nate’s closing that did it. His closing argument was stunning. He did it with passion and clarity leaving no doubt in the minds of the Jurors that a not guilty verdict was the right conclusion after a long day of testimony. Nate changed my life and I will be forever grateful for what he did for me. If you are looking for a lawyer, a super lawyer, I think it’s obvious who you want on your side. Nathan Webb! Thank you Nate!

Did a great job at taking care of a review hearing for noncompliance. He not only took care of it quickly he had the hearing struck from the calendar. He also awnsered many questions and concerns I had very quickly usually in less then an hour.

Short version: Nathan Webb is an excellent attorney. If this is your first brush with the law in Washington, as it was mine, the courts and the Department of Licensing (DOL) will surprise you, and not in a good way. Mr. Webb may surprise you but only in a good way. Long version: I got arrested for DUI in the spring of 2012. I was never booked, fingerprinted or jailed. This happened just before several high-profile drunk driving tragedies so the prosecutor was out for blood. I've always thought of driving as serious business whether I'm in a car or merely near one and I let that mindset lapse one night. I hired Mr. Webb to hopefully remain eligible to enter Canada for work, or at least not go to jail even if it would have been one weekend in Issaquah. I didn't end up behind bars but I can't go to Canada more than once between now and 2022-ish unless their new government has a change of heart or I become a celebrity. He testified for me at a DOL administrative hearing where the officer didn't show. Their appearance is not required because the police report is a sworn statement. My license was revoked for a year as there were no obvious mistakes in the report. They suspended it in error immediately after the hearing; since I had been brutally honest with Mr. Webb about what happened, I was upset when he didn't believe at first that I had a clean record prior to this (i.e. the suspension had to be for some other reason) but I chalked that up to cynicism gained by experience. At his behest they reinstated it that morning and I used the 60 day grace period to get an alcohol interlock installed. He recommended the best alcohol interlock company (as long as "best" implies the least energetic piranha in the school) and an excellent alcohol dependency evaluation clinic. The DUI awareness class is not mandatory but it is part of sentencing and should be completed before then to show that you're serious. Haven't seen an alcohol interlock before? Strangers won't notice it as long as you make small changes in your driving, parking and fueling habits. Locals aren't often busybodies but not everyone is a local these days. You will need an ID card if you want to fly or cash a check. Entry to any country other than Canada is no problem. The DOL will not process Ignition Interlock License applications until after your suspension starts. Processing takes two weeks and I wouldn't drive (Google "automated license plate readers"). If you look at the jail rosters for SCORE, Issaquah, King, Pierce, etc. you'll see that every fourth or fifth person is locked up for DUI, DWLS 2, or interlock violations. Not something to experiment with. Mr. Webb led me through my legal nightmare, showed up early for each appearance and managed to get my case to the top of the docket almost every time, so I was in court for less than an hour every 4-6 weeks over 18 months except for trial day. He didn't pressure me to accept a plea at any point but he stressed that juries are unpredictable. The prosecution rejected any juror who sounded like they understood "innocent until proven guilty" so 10 of the 12 jurors on the day of my mistrial were women who looked as if they were ready to volunteer as executioners. Lucky for me the officer made mistakes on the stand. Later, when he didn't appear again for the fifth time and the case was about to be continued, the prosecutor finally offered a plea and I gave in. I was not prepared to slog through the muck into a third year, whether or not a rational jury would have convicted me on stale rehearsed officer testimony alone. IIRC the court fine was about $1200. Pleas are offered and rescinded within minutes. I was happy that Mr. Webb was there for me. His skills and knowledge are worth it. Since you're probably not here researching a term paper, hopefully you have an understanding boss and aren't driving for work. You probably won't be doing the latter again soon anyway.

No one wants to hire a DUI attorney, yet DUIs are a fact of life for many and not one that many are proud to share the experience of having gone through. Nate operates from an exceptional playbook of tactics to cover the bases but also personalizes and modernizes his approach based on current case law, facts, and particulars related to your incident. He defends thoughtfully, carefully, and mindfully and beyond just being a defense attorney, he has gained respect and standing with prosecutors and judges who take his presence on a case seriously. He is consultative in his approach, spends a great deal of time educating on core concepts and legal precedents, and many years later, Nate has been willing to tie off some final loose ends of a case that is many many years old. I highly recommend Nate and strongly encourage you to consider him should your personal situation require such focus.

I was almost hopeless on my DUI case but everything went smooth and result in amazing finally. I strongly recommend Nate if you are facing to horrible DUI. My original case was the 2nd offense but it comes out as reckless driving even though I need to service one day jail.

Nathan has been extremely helpful and supportive in the legal mess that a 0.2 BAC reading left me with. Which, if you are reading this probably already know carries the highest level of penalty you can get for a DUI in the state of Washington. He stuck it out next to me for years while the court and officers involved kept having scheduling issues. The final verdict was guilty for reckless driving, which is a grain of sand both penalty wise and on my record compared to a DUI with >0.15BAC.

I am not a resident of Washington State, and have never been in any sort of legal trouble. I was in Seattle for a business trip, got pulled over and taken to jail - it was at this point that I realized how seriously Washington takes its DUI charges. I learned a lot from this experience, but mostly I realized that having the right lawyer on your side, who knows the laws of land makes all the difference. Happy to say I returned home with my job, reduced charges, and with my drivers license.
