While in college in CA I took a plea deal in 2017 for an incident in WA that included 2 years on the SO Registry to "ensure I completed my counseling and polygraphs." After completing all steps required of me and getting my charge dismissed with prejudice, CA said that they could not honor my deal made in WA and that I had at least 10 more years on the SO registry. CA said I had to get WA to expunge the charge, and WA said my matter was settled and it was a CA problem. Attornies in CA and WA had all gotten me nowhere. At this point, I hired Mr. Bennett. It took a couple of months, but he got CA to change their stance and now I am successfully off the SO Registration and ready to begin my life again. I have since secured two job offers. Mr. Bennett changed my life and has given me a chance. On top of that, he waived some fees and was quite accommodating about finances. I highly recommend him for any post-conviction/ redemptive law matter.

Hired this firm to restore my gun rights in reference to a police report that I had been arrested in 1988 for domestic violence (verbal argument in WA). No court docs could be found but I needed it done to get a CCW. I am out of the state so I could not do this myself. Their billing was high and I expressed concern. $105 for the attorney to email me a status. Needless to say, I was glad they did not email often. I was told this case would cost 2 to 3 thousand dollars, maybe more. The attorney had to go to court twice because he worded the restoration of rights form in a way the judge did not like. They billed me over $1,500 for court appearances. The case cost me over $5,000 for a simple arrest needing to be vacated to restore my rights. The DA did not challenge it, thank heaven because this firm would have charged more. FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP YOU!

Kurt and his team were exceptional throughout my entire 7 month legal battle. No one likes to be put in these situations, but if you ever find yourself in one, look no further than this office. Even though I had two pending cases against me, Kurt and his team handled everything so I could continue to take care of my day to day responsibilities as court hearings and disputes can be very time consuming! At one point the weather made it so the courts were closed for one of my appearances and there was a mix up at the hearing, not ruling in my favor - Kurt and his legal team were quick to act and with their knowledge and persistence, they overturned a decision that was illegally made by the courts. I looked at several reviews of different lawyers and thought Kurt sounded like the best choice. I have to say that despite not always getting a text message back as soon as I would like, I was highly impressed. Kurt has over 20 years of experience with legal matters, and knows the system, and different roles therein very well. In my anecdotal experience he knows how to make the most out of the big picture through using a meticulous fine-tuned-comb to cover all relevant details, and nevertheless exhibits a genuine, civil, air of grace and finesse that extends out to everyone I saw him talk to. His empathy was not overlooked. There was a time where I was waiting for him to finish with a client who walked in very upset. When the client left Kurt's office 20 minutes later he was noticeably delighted. That takes a gift. Such a scene was only a foreshadow of my final experience of feeling a sense of justice and joy simultaneously. This should not have been surprising to me given Kurt's obvious brilliance and understanding. Every good lawyer should be able like a chess master: one who is able to think logically, creatively, with focus, endurance, and a powerful memory. But more is required: rhetoric, writing-skills, organisation, emotional intelligence, and a backbone are also necessary. That is what I saw Kurt demonstrate. I had to write a review for Kurt or he has been by far, the best lawyer I have ever worked with. Kurt was always there working hard for me when I applied to get a pardon from Governor Christine Gregoire for several felonies that I had committed almost 9 years ago now. he saw my case as one worth fighting for. I remember he called my story a "good faith effort" story. I had made mistakes when I had hit a rock bottom in my life but he saw the potential in me and realized I was not the person behind those mistakes. He also believed in me,,,...told me I had come a long way from where I was and that no matter what , he was going to take my case all the way to Olympia and make this pardon work for me. There had been a point where I was running low on money to offer and he continued to work on my case, staying 100% dedicated to me as a client. The happy ending did come for me in January of 2013. Christine Gregoire granted me an unconditional, full pardon the day she left office.
