I have often said attorneys are like fax machines, don't often need them but when you do your sure glad you have one. I have used McKinley & Irvin for some very personal family law needs. I was successful EVERY time, its not my opinion that anyone really wins in these situations(the darker side of my ego says thanks for winning every time) but Kim and the Law firm represented me in such a professional, caring way, providing me with clarity, insight to the law and made me feel I was not alone in these always trying times. Kim's was nothing short of excellent and every thing you would hope to expect from an attorney. Her extensive law experience really shines through. Her paralegal Josh was also incredible and both of there warm, kind and caring attitude really helps sooth the nerves. I would also like to add Kim seemed always to have my best interest at heart above all else, she was constantly watching out for ways to save money to the point that I even received money back. I thought I should mention that as there is always a stigma about lawyers trying to spend all your money, and my experience was quite the opposite. What a great law firm, I can recommend them without hesitation and although I hope never to need an attorney again, if I do McKinley & Irvin and Kim Schnuelle will be there for me again. Hire this firm and you risk bankruptcy!! I am reviewing the legal work and ridiculous overbilling of Jennifer Payseno and this firm. Cold, unresponsive, unavailable, and outrageously overpriced. One month in, I was billed $2,500 for setup fees like file organization and scanning..I didn't have that much paperwork but the hourly rate for scanning was $120!! I was dropped by e-mail notice after complaining and had to pick up my file asap, then scrambled to find a new lawyer. No "compassionate" lawyering or customer service here. It's all bunk. Several lawyers told me they regularly meet with former McKinley Irvin clients who have run out of money or leave after seeing the charges.

Jennifer Payseno radiates strength, grace and integrity. Jennifer and her team went above and beyond for me. Jennifer exudes a combination of compassion and strength which gave me a sense of peace in an otherwise extremely stressful time in my life. i am thankful for Jennifer and her team for their diligent and honest work ethic.

Extremely happy with the attorney assigned to my case. Although, it was a simple Parent Plan modification case, he had shown professionalism and expertise on the subject and right to the point legal advise. Delivered on what he had promised. The ladies on the customer services and finance department also were very nice.

My father retained the services of Susan Shulenberger when his wife emptied bank accounts while he was visiting his family in NJ. He decided to file for divorce because they had always kept their finances separate. The law regarding their assets was clear, since they were both in a second marriage and they chose to keep their finances separate. Susan first made her return the money to a trust account and then weathered three different lawyers (his wife fired the first two because they understood the law). The third lawyer attempted to accuse my father of being incompetent, he is in his 80's, but had no evidence to support the claim. They also tried to delay the case several times, likely hoping he would pass away before the divorce was final. Thankfully Susan persevered through all the legal BS her attorney sent our way and eventually got them to settle (for far less than she was gunning for). It was a difficult experience for our family, but Susan was steady and effective through the long process. She knows the law and was able to hold off the kind of lawyer that gives attorneys in general a bad name. Thanks Susan!

I worked with Jennifer Payseno at McKinley Irvin on a child custody modification. Some words that describe here are: professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, realistic. Her passion for her profession became obvious as she made the effort to know me and to understand my situation. I provided volumes of information that would be difficult for most to read past the first page. I see the the below reviews and all I can say is you get what you pay for. I hired a attorney for a modification and payed a cheap price. All that attorney did was give my ex what he wanted and gatherd his info from m ex's attorney( made me look and feel dumb in court). I fired that attorney, and hired Mr. Hilty and his firm treated me great! I am the average person ( i.e. I don't know the fancy court terms), Mr. Hilty explained everything to me. All my questions explained, my worries are put to rest as best as they could be. They also got everything resolved quickly as my ex- dragged everything out as long as he could.

Susan Shulenberger is one of the best people I have ever worked with. She is both reasonable and fierce in the exact mix that is needed when dealing with parenting plans and division of assets. Divorce is never easy, so it is essential that you have someone you trust advising you. I refer every person I know facing divorce to Susan. Several of my friends have worked with her and they are grateful for her help during troubled times. Mckinly Irvin is located in downtown Seattle, and the office is welcoming and easy to access (even if you don’t like driving downtown!).
