Sean is on the ball. Not only gave good advice but responded quickly to text and emails at those times when I really needed quick answers. Sometimes you are forced into making immediate decisions on legal matters you may not fully understand. Having Sean answer my questions immediately gave me the confidence to make decisions.

Sean is a fabulous Attorney. Compassionate, serious about making the wrongs that others do or did to her clients right. She is smart, capable, classy in both her interactions with clients and other Attorneys, she responds in a timely fashion and never dropped the ball or let anything slip past her with my case. I am 110% confident that my case was in the very best of hands. Being terminated in any situation is stressful, but when a disability is added to that frustration, it can be extremely overwhelming. Sean guided me through the entire process with a sense of calm reassurance that kept me held together and able to move forward in a logical fashion. As a client of Ms. Phalen's I was repeatedly attacked personally and professionally. I felt very attacked by this attorney when I questioned anything a termination that was illegal. Consumers, particularly those facing the loss is employment, should have the right to ask questions without getting sighs and lengthy, unnecessary emails in response which , rather than answer the question, let you know how inferior you are. In addition, I had to pay for these emails that went on and on and on.

I hired Sean in May 2014 for a violation of FMLA after going on leave due to cancer. Sean was extremely empathetic but also got busy quickly with good results. She was very consciousness of my time and worked hard to get results for me quickly. She is very knowledgeable and competent. I would highly recommend her and if I needed an attorney again she would be the only one I would call! She is also very reasonable in her rates.

We had disability retirement/ EEO disability/handicap discrimination on the job with an employer involving employment rights. Ms. Phelan is very compassionate. She truly cares about individuals she is representing that have wrongfully been mistreated and discriminated. We were kept very informed in our process by her and her assistant. Ms. Phelan truly listened to our concerns. We were given various options of legal advice for us to choose what was right for us in our case. We did obtain everything that we wanted from the employer and settled out of court. If we would ever to need Ms. Phelan again; there would be no hesitation to pick up the phone and retain her. Sean is compassionate about her clients and truly cares about them. She is aggressive with the opposite side as attorney should be. I feel that she is real expert in her craft because she made sure I understood laws governing my case and she explained it very well. I was very impressed with her ability to quickly get into tiny details of my job which are quite far from most cases, with the ease of reaching her, and with the speed she moved my case and brought it to happy end (settlement). It is extremely important that Sean sees the whole story of her client and explains benefits and negative sides of possible ways to move the case. Sean was able to weigh all the issues at hand in a clear concise manner. She clearly explained the plusses and minuses of the concerns I had. Sean although knowledgeable was not a very good communicator. I think attorney's should inform you of how any comments could be perceived made when talking with another party in a legal matter BEFORE the meeting. She failed miserably on this part and thus my case perceived as less credible. After the meeting, she then seemed to attack me about some of the facts. I felt like very uncomfortable and attacked. Horrible experience.

I found Sean to be both knowledgeable and helpful as I worked through the issues and challenges of litigation against my former employer. Her advice was helpful, informed and balanced. Having worked with other attorneys in the past I found her to be responsive to my requests and kept me fully informed in all communications. One thing I found in particular was her openness to my ideas and suggestions on issues and approaches to dealing with issues and ideas.
