I found Mr. Symmes via NACBA (National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys). Setting up the initial consultation was simple and easy. After meeting with Mr. Symmes at his downtown Seattle office, I decided to retain his services because he struck me as someone who knew exactly what he was doing. And could make this seemingly challenging situation go smoothly. Smoothly the process has been. Yes there is a lot of paperwork and other required item(s) involved. But those are mainly required by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. A year ago, I walked into Lewis & Laws feeling anxious, and to be honest a bit perplexed. The one thing that was absolute, was that I needed representation. I met with Jon Lewis at his office, I remember that one of the first things that he addressed, was how I was feeling about the situation and assured me that he knew how stressful legal situations can be. In retrospect this was pretty telling about his character and the personable way that this group of attourneys treat their clients. I retained Jon Lewis and his staff to represent me and they did so enthusiastically and were tireless in defending me. I was given clear cut direction as to what they needed from me to help myself, them, and my case. Jon and his staff researched cases and consulted defense and prosecuting attorneys in other counties, They presented my case and were able to convince the prosecution that not only was Washington's deferred prosecution more extensive, it also and had a higher standard of accountability than other states, and that I would benefit from it, as well as opposed to what the prosecution was seeking. The fees were fair and there were no hidden costs involved. On the 1 year anniversary of my being clean and sober I stopped by the office and left my 1 year coin there for them. I couldn't have asked for better representation; they not only worked to get a desirable outcome, they actually cared. Retaining them was the first right thing I did to turn my life around. Four years later I make sure to drop them a note now and then just to let them know I am well and that what they did mattered.
