My divorce was incredibly stressful and James took much of that away. I felt he really understood my goal of a dissolution with as little drama as possible. He was very kind and respectful, he seemed to be friends or at least friendly to all staff members at the court house. I could tell he was well respected. He’s funny and brings humor to help ease uncomfortable situations. He had great communication. I appreciated that he had a sensible approach as opposed to being cut throat. I highly recommend him anytime I hear someone may need an attorney for a family law issue.

I feel so honored to have been excepted and then hired Jim to handle my divorce back in 2007. I just picked him out of the phone book and hit the jack pot when I retained him. He was professional,  sensitive , and extremely helpful. He has always left an enormous impression on me. I am a flight attendant who had two children and was now living out of the state. I found Jim through NOLO, received excellent advice and then hired him. He walked me through each step of my divorce, ensuring I knew what was happening and answering my many questions. We came very close to trial and through his years of wisdom and sound direction, we were able to avoid it. During mediation, he provided sound advice on how address each area. I came to James a broken father with an ex that uses my son as a weapon to hurt me. She accuses me of things that aren't true and made statements like she would never let me see my son and make sure he wouldn't love me when he grows up. She would gaslight me and said she would do everything in her power to make sure I would not be able to be a part of his life. James made her put me on my sons birth certificate and even though she is ignoring James' requests to not have to go to trial and spying on me using character murdering lies to hurt my chances. James was good enough to refund my retainer so I could hire another one after she had the venue changed. He was also good enough to tell me that she was spying on me and was trying to convince people I was doing bad. When the truth is I am helping drug addicts get clean and teaching them skills to work honest jobs even helping people down and out get up on their feet. While she is running around slaying my character so I am not about to be in my son's life. I owe James for giving me the ability to fight back against a person hell bend on destroying my future my family and my dignity. Thank you James for helping me and I would recommend this man for he understands we are all human and we all need help just like I believe and teach to those I am able to help. If you are a father that wants to be a positive role model and influence in your kids life and your ex is murdering your character. Give this man a chance he will fight and he will do what he can. I believe when you do the right thing and do good for people who are in need you will have Angels come into your life and James is one that will come and leave as he believes every loving parent deserves to know and be a part of their baby's lives. Keep up the good fight Jim.

It is appalling to see an attorney filling out forms with grammar and spelling mistakes. Even though James appears professional in person, on paper and through communication he is extremely unprofessional. Things as simple as having an email signature or anything other than @aol would help.

Really didn't help or guide me in what I wanted. Just wanted me to settle out of court with my divorce and custody because he was worried I couldn't afford to keep going on in court. I was young naive and feel taken advantage of by him and the opposing side. This was my worst experience by far with any legal situation and unfortunately it was the most important in my life. Stay away from this guy.

This man knows very well that he is NOT a Real Estate attorney, yet he took money from us to send on our behalf, a Real Estate related letter. Even more unfortunately, we have NO reason whatsoever to believe that the letter for which we paid about $150.00 to be sent, was even sent. We had contacted him for the purpose of hiring him to represent us in a lawsuit. Instead he took the easier route... proposing instead to consult with us (for less than 30-minutes), and took $150 from us under false pretense. He told us that he would send us via email the letter that he was going to be sending... but that too did not happen. We had to once again initiate another contact with him, before he could keep his very own promise of send sending us a so-called Word Document proof. Yes! A simple Word Document was all we got as proof! The intended recipient on the other hand did not receive anything. He was more interested in taking our money than providing us any service... ...could not even meet with us at his office (because he probably does not have one). Instead, a short self-serving meeting took place at Panera Bread in Federal Way, WA, to discuss our legal problem while he was having breakfast. Frankly, a refund is well within our right because we were deceived, and we have no proof that the service we paid for was even rendered in the first place. This man practices Family Law, and yet he is going around telling people otherwise, and taking money from them.

We used Jim to assist us in the relocation of our children out of state. Jim did an outstanding job in all aspects of the case, including in the courtroom. He was very responsive and patient with all our concerns and questions and was very clear in conveying the requirements of the law. We highly recommend Jim for your attorney.
