I’d recommend ensuring that your staff.. whether a secretary, paralegal, or receptionist... has a clear understanding of basic client-facing information. Prospective clients should be able to quickly obtain answers to foundational questions such as: 1. Consultation Fees: Whether the firm charges for an initial consultation and, if so, the amount. 2. Billing Structure: Whether services are billed on a flat fee, hourly rate, or incrementally 3. Retainer Amount: The cost to retain the attorney’s services and the terms of the retainer agreement. Equipping your staff with this knowledge fosters efficiency, professionalism, and client trust. A well-prepared team ensures potential clients feel valued and confident in their initial interaction with your firm.

I had a very ugly and contested divorce/custody battle. Kathryn fought hard for me and would recommend her for anyone facing a highly contentious divorce.

THE Erik Bjornson is a straight-forward, intelligent, honest, and skilled family law attorney who balances the legal necessities along with all aspects of complicated family situations. Mr. Bjornson's expertise and understanding of law drove to a close what was a high-conflict and highly contentious case. He managed to accomplish this in the best manner possible with excellent results for my son and I. Although we avoided court, he has remained by my side as conflict unfortunately continues after the divorce. Terrible representation Since Google won’t let me post my actual review I’ll just put how frustrated I was for the whole process. Costs, this divorce without one single in person court hearing was over $12,600. That’s not including his retainer (3,500) that sits throughout the whole divorce process, other attorney’s cost to type up something he claims he knows so much about, and also the mediation cost. Mediation determined 99% of everything, he literally did nothing. He sent me wrong paperwork, charged me incorrectly (I caught it), misspelled names, called me because he can’t understand emails and charged me his normal rate. Talked down to me like I’m an idiot. He plays the military card, stating he will fight and win. That’s far from the case. Don’t listen to his used car salesman tactics. There is no way these reviews are real, anyone who deals with this guy either doesn’t pay attention or just believes everything he says. Go pay for an attorney who has a paralegal, it’ll cost you way less in the process and you’ll have better representation. After mediation he said you should move to another country so you don’t have to pay your ex part of your retirement. If you get a $400 an hour attorney with a paralegal you’ll most likely pay way less than this guy. Not one court date online or in person was done and it cost me almost $15,000.

Mr. Bjornson helped me through a very difficult time in my life and I'm thankful. The very first time I met with him, he gave me advice before I even retained him as my attorney. His fee was very reasonable and it was worth every penny having him on my side fighting for me throughout the process. He was very responsive and communicated with me. I chose Erik to be my lawyer for my divorce case. There were a lot of deception and confusion in my case but he made me feel as though I was his only client, although I know I wasn't. He gave me on honest input regarding possible outcome of my case. He is very responsive and being on top of everything.
