Was to be a simple relocation motion. David G represented my husband. First error was David did not provide court with prev PP for Judge to review. Did judge know he had 60/40 and joint decision making? No...stepped out of courtroom that first 10 min hearing with alt weekends and a dinner date with ex having 100% control of decision making. Unheard of! David was not a good advocate for us. He encouraged us not to attend the second hearing, missed items placed in PP that was not ruled on that opposing counsel added without discussion which will now cost us time and money in the future, was not timely in returning emails, when spoke via phone he sure let us know how busy he was with other cases. I wish he tended to our case as closely as he did with others. We paid our bill in full due to accuring interest but had many questions not answered. We were charged for phone conversations that David said he wouldn't charge us for. We went with this firm due to the high ratings online. Very disappointed. One could say we our jaded that our case didn't go in our favor but this was to be a simple motion to put in place what had already been through the courts. We feel David was unprepared and not a strong advocate for us.....that is the disappointing part when you pay almost $400/hour you expect to have strong representation. I have reached out multiple times trying to follow up with owners of firm. I want to know if this company feels comfortable with accepting our payment for the service that was provided to us. No response. That is why they no longer represent us.

Lisa Ward at this location is absolutely amazing! She comes very highly recommended. She is a very thorough and responsive lawyer. She is compassionate and at the same time wont give you false hope. I have used her for two cases and could not be more pleased! She is worth the money and more. McKinley Irvin is very lucky to have her! -Amanda-

Divorce can be a very ugly, stressful, and greatly unfortunate life event. For me, it made me feel lost, hurt, fearful, and extraordinarily vulnerable. Once I made the decision that this was the path I needed to take, I made the decision to seek legal counsel. Honestly it did not even occur to me to handle it myself. Also, I didn’t have enough trust in my then husband to even contemplate an amicable agreement. I researched firms online and McKinley Irvin stood out repeatedly as a reputable and effective firm. Read through many profiles and was highly impressed. I was assigned Teresa Foster, Senior Partner in Charge in Vancouver WA. She was selected because she is very experienced. Important for me due to a significant income difference between myself and ex. I met with Teresa and our talk was very clear and to the point. It wasn’t a therapy session. It was a “this is how I see the situation. This is what I recommend. These would be the next steps”. This was exactly what I needed ..... direction and clarity. And my perception was that I could trust this direction and Teresa.
Also, in understanding that this was all very overwhelming, Teresa extended the offer for me to call/text her with questions as as needed. I took comfort in her leadership and unwavering confidence.
As a Senior partner her plate was not at all empty but I was pleasantly surprised at my experience with Teresa’s paralegal Chriss Elliott when I needed anything and Teresa was not available. Truly a dynamic duo. Always so pleasant and accommodating. They both have the same “let’s get it done” attitude. There was no feet dragging and never any disregard. Chriss, also experienced the overwhelmed me and each and every time (there were several) our discussions made me feel so much better.
I was impressed by so much, but as the dust cleared I realized how thankful I was by Teresa Foster’s focus, confidence, intelligence to grasp a significant amount of information and know exactly how to proceed, clarity on the goal....and then achieving that goal. I have heard many stories of the lack of trust or confidence others had with their attorney and I’m so thankful that my experience was the complete opposite. I had 100% trust. My divorce ended with as equitable (WA state) outcome as I could have asked. Whether or not it was deserved by him was not relevant, living in a community property state, but it could have been so much worse in many ways and for this I will forever be grateful. I feel so very fortunate to have found both Teresa Foster and Chriss Elliott.

Matthew Kuehnl has been representing me in my divorce. He has been absolutely incredible; I consider it a blessing that I found him.
Before meeting Matthew, I was set on using a female lawyer and was not open to using a male. I met with him for a consolation and after getting to know him I came to realize that he was caring, trustworthy, intelligent, and able to stand by my family in the ways we needed.
When I retained Matthew I was completely naive in my understanding of how difficult my divorce would be. Matthew jumped into action when the divorce started taking a turn for the worse. BECAUSE he is by my side, I have the peace of mind I need to make it through a very difficult time. He has shown the perfect balance of caring about everyone affected by this divorce and fighting for what is best for the kids and I. He has been impressive in court; he is smart, well spoken, and quick on his toes. He has proved that he cares about my children and I by standing up for us in and outside of the court room too many times to count. He has gone above and beyond for us.
Matthew has not been afraid to let me know the ways I can do better, especially the ways I need to stand up for myself and have my own back. This has been tremendously important for me and I do not believe another lawyer could have shown up for me in the ways he has. I am so grateful for the peace of mind I have with him by my side.

I got the pleasure of working with Matthew Kuehnl for my custody/child support case. He advocated and stood up for my kid and myself both in mediation and attorney to attorney interactions. He was very much a straight shooter but left the ball in my court recognizing I hired him to do the legal part but the final decision was always mine. I never felt blind sided about what the next step was and always felt informed on expectations of the process. He was quick to respond to my concerns/emails and understanding that the entire process was nothing but nerve racking for me. Very personable too.

Casey Sanders and Karrey Komp helped me with my restraining order and third party custody case. They were very efficient, professional and understanding through my difficult situation. They reassured me on many aspects of the case and were always quick to respond to my phone calls or emails. My case was dismissed and my daughter was returned home the following day. I can't thank Casey and his team at McKinney and Irvin enough for the work they put in for my family in such short notice. Thank you for making my family whole again before the holidays. I would use him again if I needed an attorney in the state of Washington again! THANK YOU!

I was fortunate to retain the help of Teresa Foster during my divorce. She was referred to me by several distinguished retired attorneys who said she was the best I could find. I had initially hired a different attorney and I grew frustrated with having unreturned messages and being shuffled off to the 2nd-string attorney who even misspelled my name on a submitted briefing. Teresa and her assistant Chriss Elliott always quickly returned my messages, gave me excellent counsel and had their hearts in it. I didn’t feel like I was just one of a hundred clients; I was given excellent personal attention during a difficult time in my life. I will always appreciate the help they gave me. Count yourself fortunate if you have the opportunity to hire Teresa Foster and Chriss Elliott onto your team.

The experience of a divorce is certainly not a pleasant one and it was comforting to know my attorney had my back. I worked with Matt Kuehnl, and while he was a somewhat random selection for attorney I enjoyed working with him and his firm throughout the process resulting in a relatively smooth conclusion. The reputation attorneys have is do whatever it takes to keep the meter moving and rack up those fees and I never got that feeling from Matt from my side. Although it was an expensive process the outcome was fair and pretty much as Matt expected it would be and there were no big surprises in the end. I would definitely recommend Matt if you are in a similar situation.
