We are ‘real people,’ and we didn’t use artificial intelligence tools to write this review. Our experience with estate planning is, I suspect, pretty common. We had no idea of how to approach getting an adequate will in place, who to ask for advice, nor how much it would cost. We procrastinated for years, and finally used an online will maker to create wills. We used a hospital system’s advance directive system to create those documents. We had difficulty finding the requisite number of trusted witnesses who could be in one place at one time. It was definitely an a la carte experience, compounded with multiple entities and systems. We moved to Wenatchee last year, and started the process again. The online will maker was a utilitarian approach, but the results were not a great fit. We found certain clauses to be counter to our wishes, but were ‘baked in’ to the form’s language. We couldn’t transfer our advance directives from our previous hospital system to our current one. We realized the ‘free’ approach consumed an inordinate amount of time, and we simply weren’t happy with the results. We searched online, and Bromiley Mackay Williams Law’s description of services was the closest to our needs. We called, and found they have a package deal that is quite comprehensive. The cost was significantly less than our expectations, which were based on online estimates from the web. We were offered an appointment in the same week we called at a time that worked for us. Our experience with Bryce Mackay, in particular, was terrific. Bryce was informal, yet professional. Knowledgeable, but flexible. Our life experience and needs were the focus, rather than ‘making the sale.’ Of course, Bryce started with a template, but the text was adjusted to meet our needs, with clear, crisp language that specifically addressed our concerns. The advantages of the package deal include maintenance and, eventually, professional implementation of documents and assistance to the executor of our wills. We are delighted with our experience.
