We’ve only had one meeting but some of the reviews had me worried but after the brief interaction, I’m extremely excited about the possibility of becoming a client. I think a lot of people are confusing her direct communication as rudeness. In my opinion You want a lawyer that’s direct, knowledgeable and can communicate openly. We called on a Friday afternoon needing emergent legal advice, we were able to have an appointment the following Monday. My good friend actually recommended her, she just went through a nasty custody battle with her husband over her step daughter and mrs cinda scales was the opposing attorney. That recommendation there should be enough. Extremely professional, I’m anticipating I’ll be back to change my 4star review to 5 after our trial

I had a custody dispute. Ms. Scales and her assistant Regina were very professional and did an amazing job!! Can’t recommend them highly enough!! If you want someone that will work tirelessly for you, hire Cinda Scales! And make sure Regina is along side.

I recently had ms.scales represent me in a child custody modification case. She had me pay up front the consultation fee and the retainer a total of $3600. We went into court and she basically told me that the judge would never go for what I wanted so that I needed to come up with something else. When I told her numerous times of what I wanted she got mad at me to make me lower what I wanted. When we walked into the court room the judge says she hopes her client isn’t a basket case like the last one. And scales laughs at it like that’s unprofessional and she did not stand up for anything that I wanted. She just agreed with what the judge said. Then turns around and stands up for my ex husband. I then go into her office for a meeting about what happened in court with my mother and she won’t let my mom back with me when I gave her permission to be in there. She lied and said I’d be better off with another lawyer. She then tells me no refunds. Sends me a copy of the order to review before it was submitted to the courts and then tells me that it’s already been submitted so I can’t do anything else. She took my money and ran with it. Nothing but a con artist trying to make a quick paycheck. “Best in Berkeley county” that’s a joke.

I can't even give her a star. She collected all the money up front and due to COVID the proceedings lasted almost a year. My son owed her $261.00 and she left him standing on his own without representation on the last day of the divorce hearing. Unethical. I wanted him to make a complaint to the WV Bar, however, he wanted to move on. I have many who ask me about attorneys that would represent them in divorce and my response is...anyone except her.

It was a fast divorce, but when I had a question about anything, I felt like I was bothering my lawyer. Its hard enough to get divorced. Your lawyer shouldn't make you feel like you're a burden.

My son just used this law office for his divorce. His representation did an outstanding job. When he had questions, she answered them in a timely fashion. If you are looking for a lawyer who sugarcoats things, you should look elsewhere. She is straightforward and lays out your options right up front. Highly recommended.

When it comes to family court you want the best representation possible and you have to pay for quality representation if you want to succeed. Have used Ms.Scales numerous times since 2011.
