I know this post is going to seem like I'm bitter .... I am. I had Jan Dils represent me with my claim back in June 2016. I received my VA rating decision in February 2017. Never had a conversation with anyone from the firm, except the initial conversation when they got all my information. Never got any legal advice concerning my claim. I finally got a letter in the mail from them stating that my claim had been appealed. When I called them, they told me the reason that they hadn't done anything with my claim prior to appealing it was because they didn't get my files until February 2017. My claim had already been decided on and they had done absolutely nothing. When I called to get information on my medical records, no one knew anything because "they had not had the chance to review my file" because they just got it. Now the appeal can take 1 to 2 years to be decided on. Eight months back pay vs two years and eight months back pay. I know it all comes out in the wash, but why do I have to wait almost 3 years to get paid? That's just more back pay that they get. I called and asked to have my appeal changed to a reconsideration to get it over with. They refused to do it. Said I needed to talk to the lawyer first. I had to schedule an appointment to even speak with a lawyer (keeping in mind that I NEVER spoke with a lawyer up to this point). After going back and forth with the lawyer, I was told it would be changed to a reconsideration. When I called VA about my claim, I found out it never was changed to a reconsideration. I sent emails. Came back "rejected" by the organization. I sent an email to another person within the organization on 21 March. Finally, my email was answered on 23 March only to say that they was forwarding my email to the lawyer. Never heard from anyone else. Today is the 29th, and I still haven't heard from the law firm. Why should I have to call them at this point? If my claim wasn't cut-and-dry enough for them, then they shouldn't have taken on my claim ... and it doesn't excuse unprofessional communication courtesy. If I could have given 0 stars, I would have. I could have just had VA represent me. At least with them, when they ignore me or avoid my calls and emails, I know that in the end, they're not getting 20% of any back pay. That's the part that tees me off.

The staff at Jan Dils is absolutely amazing. I attend church with one of the employees (Andrea) there. So completely trust worthy. I love that they also give back so much to the community with the Golden Apple Teachers award and so much more. Two thumbs up!

Not only is this establishment professional and efficient, they take great pride in the community, and helping to reward hardworking teachers by presenting the golden apple award. In my opinion there is no better place to handle your needs in town. They are truly a class act.

"I am currently still enlisted in the United States Army and would definitely consider Jan Dils as the only law firm that I would want to represent me if any type of disability matter should arise. She personally assisted one of my friends when he needed help in pursuing his disability claim; the matter was handled quickly and professionally.
