She's just a great lawyer

Russ is an amazing attorney. He stood by my every step of the way even when I had a mental break down after i had been convicted. ( Russ didn't go down without a fight though, easily the best criminal defense I had ever had) he helped me through everything and even though I ot convicted instead of going to prison like the DA asked for i got three years probation with no jail time thanks to Russ' arguments. Thank you Russ, for everything.

Russell Hammer is an EXCELLENT Criminal Defense Lawyer. Right from the beginning he supported me and my decisions in my defense with my case. He never waivered when it came to taking my case to trial even the prosecution wanted to make a deal. He believed in me and valued my life and the consequences that could have been put upon me had a conviction been made. Due to his diligence in his defense, we won in trial and a conviction was not made. Thanks to Russell Hammer, I am a free man!

I was the respondant in a non-spousal restraining order and it was a very difficult situation because there were 2 people accusing me. Russ handled it well, in a timely and low-key manner. He attempted to settle the matter outside of court, but when that didn't work he was extremely effective in court. He was able to present my side of the altercation, while also pointing out the holes in the accusers story. I was extremely happy with his work, and would gladly recommend him to anybody who has to defend themselves from false accusations.

I recently hired Russ to help me navigate several complicated matters with some competing interests. Russ is very responsive, knowledgeable, and personable. I feel very protected legally with him in my corner!

I hired Hammer last year when a disorderly conduct was filed on me for talking on my cell phone in City hall. After a few months the charges were dismissed. Again more charges filed against me later that year and Hammer took my case from the PD office and all charged are dismissed right before trial. Very wise and good at his job! Mr. Hammer was Court Appointed to my case as a Public Defender. I did not hire him. Yet I was given Class A Representation. Mr. Hammer represented me during the worst time of my life. He was not just an attorney but someone who could help a person through the system and comfort you when I thought all hope of being free again was lost. He fought for me to get a fair bond to get of jail. Numerous times he helped me with personal problems while I was in jail. He went out of his way to make sure I got proper representation. I personally feel no other attorney would have taken the time to do what he did. I am now free and trying to get my life back together. I was facing a mandatory sentence of 25 years if found guilty. The courts will not walk all over you with Mr. Hammer as your Attorney! He has been my Attorney for since October, 2010 for 3 of my cases with La Crosse county. Of all the charges and there where over twenty, I was convicted of a bail jumping charge for failure to change my address with clerk of courts.
