I worked with a competent lawyer who was able to review an employment contract on my behalf. However, I chose this firm specifically because they gave me the lowest quote. Not only was I charged twice as much as the initial quote, but every single email interaction we exchanged was billed as 0.1 to 0.5 hours of work at an hourly rate of $315. For example, I sent an email response of "sounds good" in response to the meeting time he suggested, and was billed $31.50 (the lowest charge on the bill) for him to "review" that email. The actual phone conversation we had, which lasted 1.5 hours and could have been concluded in one or less (in my opinion) was charged as 2 hours of actual work for "preparation and phone call." Needless to say, disappointed because this will be a large financial burden for me and I felt really blind sided by the way I was charged.

I hired John to help advise me on a landscaping dispute with a neighbor after a poor experience with another lawyer. John absolutely exceeded my expectations. He was timely, extremely professional, organized, and carefully outlined all of the aspects I should consider. He was good at listening and grasping a complication situation, and did all of this during our first 1 hour meeting. The time he spent after the freebie hour was very responsibly spent, and he certainly justified his rate. I'm very pleased that I was able to get an appointment with John.

He constantly provides sound advice and has helped us navigate complicated situations during our initial years of business.
