In my opinion I wouldn’t get him as a lawyer ever again. Simply because he doesn’t do what you ask him to do. He acts as if he doesn’t work for you. Tells you one thing on the phone then as court approaches goes back on his word and act as if he didn’t say the things he said such as “fighting for no jail time” if you are telling your lawyer what you want him to argue in court or fight for then that’s exactly what should be done. I have seen people with the same if not similar cases as mine that has gotten the same outcome as me with public defenders and I say that to say don’t waste your money. The police took my jewelry and instead of my LAWYER trying to do anything to get it back he told me to do it. Does little to no work whatsoever!

I hired Ashley for my divorce as she came highly recommended. I am so very glad that I did. She made an incredibly stressful time in my life so much easier. She is very professional but is personable and easy to talk to. She and her very competent staff flawlessly took care of all legal documents, hearings, etc. In an arena I know little about, she assisted me through the maze of paperwork and legalese, making the process so much easier for me. I never felt uncertain about what was happening, which made the process so much less stressful. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an extremely competent, professional attorney.

I had a very contentious divorce with an Ex with mental disorders and a history of abuse. I interviewed other attorneys I was recommended, but liked Atty Richter's matter-of-fact politeness and approach very much. She was diligent with my time and I felt she was fair with her invoices. She and her staff guided me through my divorce each step of the way. I had a GAL (I would recommend Atty Richter as a GAL as well) and a few bumps along the way because of my Ex, but Atty Richter always had good advice or options for me to consider. I appreciated that Atty Richter was always prepared whenever we met or spoke over the phone. She made herself available, answered my questions promptly and thoroughly, she provided me options to consider, and when appropriate she offered ways I could save time and expense with my case. As my case proceeded, it became even more apparent that Atty Richter understands the Dane County court system extremely well. She prepared me well for my appearances in mediation/arbitration and in court. I trust and value Atty Richter's opinions, guidance and approach to my case. Hiring Atty Richter was the best decision I could have made next to getting divorced!

Megan Phillips is a most competent and efficient divorce lawyer. Megan and I worked on my divorce case in 2018-2019. Hiring an attorney was one of the first major decisions to make all by myself once divorce was filed and needless to say it was a very scary and intimidating task. She never made me feel judged even when I acted out of sheer panic or was ready to surrender just to avoid any confrontations with my ex. Instead she was patient and available whenever I needed her guidance. She persuaded me to stay strong and made sure to stand for what’s best for me. I was able to trust her judgement completely. Since my divorce case did not involve child custody, we took the course of divorce mediation. Megan offers a solid team of experts such as financial advisors and counselors who are ready to assist in navigating through the highly stressful situations. With all their help, I felt that I was no longer in this (divorce) alone. I felt supported. Instead of dealing with nitty-gritty of divorce, I was able to prioritize taking care of myself like rebuilding self-esteem and looking for housing and job opportunities. For that, I am especially grateful. At the end of the final hearing, I felt at peace rather than feeling drained. I was able to look forward to my future instead of becoming bitter. After going through a long dragging divorce process and two prior attorneys on my case I have finally found Megan to represent me. I can vividly remember my first conversation with Megan Phillips. I was sitting in my car after my shift ended feeling incredibly hopeless, scared and in need of guidance. I contacted her initially to help with my child’s custody litigation. She spoke to me with such confidence and strength - the exact thing I knew I lacked in that moment, almost like she could hear the worry and fear in my voice as a parent. I explained my concerns and reasoning for the call and instead of turning me away or referring me to someone else, she related to my concerns and made me feel heard for the first time since dealing with the court system and past legal counsel. She was not just my attorney, but a coach as well. She had cordial and respectful interactions with the other professionals we worked with but was tenacious when she needed to be.
