I had a wrongful termination suit for which I hired Victor. My first question to him was whether it was worth going forward. His judgment was that it was--as it turned out he was wrong in that. But I had to pay for his miscalculation not him. I know there are no crystal balls that can see the future, but what was worse than his poor judgement is that he claimed an exorbitant number of hours which he did not discuss with me and I did not authorize. So not only did he lose my case, but he was consistently slow to respond in a fast moving situation, and I ended up getting over $6000 bill for his unauthorized work. I would only recommend him as a lawyer for somebody you dislike.

The Victor and Rose deJong team is just great. They are responsive like a smaller firm, but with top notch talent like a larger firm. They can help you with whatever you need from corporate/transactional work to litigation. Victor helped me through a few franchising and non compete agreements and I could not have asked for more. Mr. Plantinga first represented me in a complicated employment matter, where I had to sue a previous employer for severance pay. Victor won the case at every turn (arbitration and circuit court) and when the defendants pushed it all the way to the State Court of Appeals, Victor prevailed again. I could not have been happier with his services. I have turned to Victor from time-to-time since, and have always found him to be knowledgeable and effective.

I went Pro Se in a case to case a property that had a lot to do with bank fraud, illegal foreclosure, and activities that the bank did based on my gender and disability. I paid Mr. Plantinga a retainer to correct the judgment opposing counsel drafted and to reopen the case, which the judge said he would look at. He received his $3500 retainer and within a week refused to work in an expediant manner to correct the judgment and save my valuable property. He instead said, no we'll just wait until they auction it off and go from there! Great, the time frame lapsed, which I didn't know was only 10 days, and my multi million dollar investment is up for sale! Totally misled me and ruined my opportunity for a timnely response.
