Within the first 5 minutes I knew I had made a mistake in paying $100 for a consultation with Jennifer F. Thompson; she didn't even give me the courtesy of introducing herself. I was emotional and in tears being very upset over a DC citation I received. I was relieved to finally meet with a lawyer to have my have questions answered in order to know my options in fighting this citation, and in dealing with a stalker. Jennifer wasn't listening to me; she impatiently cut me off numerous times, as if annoyed. For example, I started our conversation by saying, "I originally wanted to get a restraining order against my neighbor, but now I..." and she cut me off telling me why a RO wasn't possible. I could barely get a full sentence out before she reacted. She should no concern for my situation, she was confrontational, and visibly sneered at me a couple times, as if my questions were stupid. Throughout the entire consultation I felt as if I were in court defending myself. She actually said, "I don't believe you" and "I don't believe that happened" making me feel re-victimized.

Total waste of time, very unprofessional and poor display of work ethic

I considered and still am considering sueing Jennifer for her negligence in my case. I agree with the other reviews, she's incompetent and emotional and comes off as kind of cuckoo in front of the judge. The other party didn't even really have that good of a lawyer but she just chokes. She was totally unprepared to fight for me, but super aggressive when trying to collect her pay. I lost everything because of her and am still in debt. I would advise anyone to seek other counsel.

Attorney Thompson handled a complicated family matter for us, and she gave 110% from day one! Our case took over two years to conclude, and she never stopped fighting for us despite all the games the other side played. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an aggressive attorney!

In my experience with Jennifer Thompson, she is an excellent attorney. I have consulted with her on many cases, and I recommend her often as one of the best family law attorneys in the area. In my experience she is ethical, and still very tough when needed. She and her staff are highly organized, and I find them to be responsive in following up and returning calls. But for me, what makes her stand out even more, is that also has heart.

Michelle Swardenski was assigned as my son's GAL and she was amazing! She was able to see the truth and call my ex out on his BS majorly. After an already long, drawn out custody battle and many failed attempts to get my point across in front of the judges, I finally felt like someone was looking into the best interest of my son and she hit a home run for me. My son is now in a MUCH healthier, safer place, now that I have sole custody. I would give 5 stars, however, the only complaint I have is about the billing. The statements are extremely confusing and weren't reflecting current payments, I had to do some math to figure out my final payment. Other than that, I would highly recommend Michelle to anyone.

In a review, they ask you to be specific on "the case" they assisted you with. However, Jennifer has been present in my life and business for many years now. Her council and honesty is so highly valued by me and my team. She goes to bat for you and will give you honest guidance.

I would definitely recommend Jennifer to anyone. She's fierce, smart and compassionate! I was glad to have her when I needed her.

Jennifer has answered questions and presented helpful ideas and I have found her to be knowledgeable and attentive. She is experienced and is well-versed in family law.
