Adam is as good as they come. He's fair, he's straight forward, and he will go fight for you each and every day. When everyone else had turned their back on me, Adam stood with me and helped me negotiate an ugly divorce into a settlement that was fair and in the best interest of my kids! Would/Will recommend any and every opportunity I can!

I found myself in a situation that no mother thinks could happen to her children and when I truly needed someone to listen and help Adam was that person! He went above and beyond. He took on my case like it was his own children. When I truly felt like there was no hope Adam didn’t stop. He made sure the judge heard the truth and without him I don’t think my outcome would’ve been the same. Even after a victory in court I found myself still needing Adam’s counsel, he stayed with me through it all and did not stop until my daughter was back in my arms! If you find yourself in need of an attorney who will take on your case and truly not stop fighting for you Adam is the guy! I can never thank him enough for helping me and my daughters!

I was charged with 2 Felonies, both heinous in nature. I was able to speak to Mr. Cumberworth about the case and I felt immediately like he would be a major asset for our team. During my trial, we demolished the State. He gave the most brilliant cross-examination in an extremely tense affair, but the course of my case turned instantly. It was abundantly clear that we had won after that moment. My exposure to all legal proceedings is fairly limited, but I will say that watching him dismantle to the 2 prosecutors was like watching a professional athlete take on a varsity athlete. They were “playing the same sport”, but at far different levels. If you want an attorney who will listen to your concerns and go to battle for you, I promise you will not be disappointed in Mr. Cumberworth. The state/opposing attorneys may wish you had gotten someone else, but you will be glad you retained this man.

In a moment of need for my family and I, Adam was there for us. His attention to every detail and his in-depth knowledge of the law was clearly evident and proved to be exactly what we needed to get through a difficult time. Adam remains my first, and only call when I need legal representation.

I contacted Adam to represent me through a Navy DRB for an improper discharge from 2010. He gave me a very fair price, walked me through the whole process, was attentive and professional, and in the end he helped me upgrade my character of discharge, reason for discharge, and RE code. I would highly recommend him to any service member or veteran who was treated unfairly by their branch and wants to clear their name. Thanks, Adam!

We had a problem when a government contractor failed to pay our invoice. All of our efforts to collect were met with stonewalling and deception. Todd was of great assistance in getting this situation resolved. Throughout the process he was responsive and answered all our questions as they arose. The final payment has been made and the issue resolved in a very reasonable time frame.

In selecting an attorney, my top priorities were accessibility, responsiveness and well-rounded perspective. Mr. Howard and his staff at the Rahmati Law Firm exceeded my expectations on every level. He has become a trusted advisor for my personal household matters as well as for my business needs. My relationship with Mr. Howard began with real estate contracting. He provided comprehensive recommendations and thoughtful perspective on our individual matters. In every instance in which we worked together, Mr. Howard demonstrated a deep working knowledge of real estate law and how it applied to my individual contracts. He went above and beyond in terms of research for our individual questions. He is continues to be accessible for our current portfolio as well as for household matters. What I enjoy most about working with Mr. Howard is his ability to put us at ease in any situation. He answers questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. He translates his applied legal knowledge into recommendations that are easy to understand, and most importantly, incredibly thorough. I have referred both business clients as well as real estate contacts to him, and will continue to do so.

Mr. Montgomery and his staff have been amazing in helping me through my son's motorcycle accident. The were very up front and honest about the case and gave good and sound advice. I had an issue on a Saturday that I emailed him on and he took the time that day to call me to talk through it. To me that's amazing that a lawyer would do that on the weekend on his day off. His staff is as amazing. Quick responses and other communication reaching out to me to give updates and advice. The other lawyers in the firm have been equally as amazing in helping me through this very difficult process. My son was in a motorcycle accident that was not his fault 7 months ago and has TBI and is currently incapacitated. This firm has done an outstanding job representing my son and I. Highly recommended.

I was falsely accused of a crime my lawyer investigated rhe case. She worked very hard on my behalf. She was honest and kept me updated good news or bad news I knew it. It took 15 months to resolve my case but thats the system not the lawyer she prepared.

Ms. Wright was an amazing lawyer. Throughout my process she remained professional while still making me feel one hundred percent comfortable. She kept in touch with me , checked on me to see how I was doing and taught me a lot of valuable life lessons along the way. She is by far one of the most humble and grounded individuals I have came across thus far and I would recommend her to anyone seeking legal help. She did everything in her power to help me through the hardest time in my life and for that , I will forever be grateful. Ms.Wright loves her job and she is very passionate about what she does and it most definitely shows . She deserves ten stars!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Huntsville, Alabama?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
