charged half of the retainer to do nothing. No adoption. $22.50 per phone call to tell me nothing new. Fired me for being angry with their nonperformance. 3 months to try and adopt a child already in my home.

After several court visits to be able to see my boys, even though I was paying Mortgage, utilities and full child support with no success and being told by my previous lawyer that it is not unusual to be paying so much as a physician; I saw Alison in court during my multiple court visits and I just had the feeling that I should consider her as a lawyer. After researching her more I decided to get her counsel. I would say that was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. Immediately she got on the case, I was able to see my boys as scheduled on the court order. She was trying to cut my payments down so we planned to go back to court. However, due to my ex-wife erratic behavior, she advised me to seek for custody. I initially turned it down, since I was told by my previous lawyer that my chance of winning a custody battle was very slim. As my ex-wife behavior became more erratic during a few court visits, she advised me again to consider fighting for custody and I did. Now, with her help, I have full custody of my boys, house is sold, so no need to pay mortgage or utility bills. Getting Alison as my lawyer was a blessing and she fought for me till the very end, and every penny spent for her representation was an amount well spent. I am glad this is not something to do over, but if it was, I will take Alison as my lawyer again.
Thank you so much Alison and Bre. I really do appreciate all your hardwork and patience.

Alison managed a difficult custody case, helping my wife and me get custody of our grandchild to ensure her safety and well-being. Alison is firm yet compassionate. She was thorough in preparing for the hearings, and made sure that I was prepared to testify. She has knowledge of the system and the people at the courthouse, and was able to navigate the process easily.

Alison was my attorney during a divorce and custody battle. My (now) ex-husband wanted everything.. Full custody of kids, house, property, etc. From the second I walked in the door, Alison made me feel at ease. Our divorce took over a year and Alison was always right on top of it, explaining what would happen next, helping to calm my nerves. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I highly recommend Alison!

I had to return to court after a very contentious divorce. My previous attorney took another job and had to resign from my case, and I was directed by friends to call Ms. Herlihy.
From start to finish, Alison handled my case well. I always felt comfortable asking questions or asking for advice. She is clearly very capable, and very easy to work with.
I was completely confident with Ms. Herlihy representing me.

After a 32 year marriage and facing an imminent divorce, a friend recommended Ms. Herlihy to me for a consultation. Upon entering the front door, I was met with a warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Bre, Ms. Herlihy's paralegal.
After the consultation, I retained Ms. Herlihy to represent me in the divorce proceedings. From beginning to end, Ms. Herlihy alleviated all of my fears and concerns. She answered every question with care and compassion. She was very understanding and accommodating regarding the payment for her services. She and her paralegal made a sad, stressful, heartbreaking experience much easier to bear.

There are three certain professions that the older you are, consumers will feel an artificial sense of comfort and confidence in that person’s ability. Those professions are: doctor, lawyer and commercial pilot. No one would want to have delicate brain surgery from recent medical school graduate, nor would they feel comfortable having their freedom fought for in court by a young public defender.
Lastly, anyone who has ever flown commercial airlines, and has witnessed the twenty-something pilot towing his bag through the terminal would just about make anyone apprehensive about flying.
My point is this; I spent over a month and a half researching for the best possible attorney to represent me in the most important event in my life, and all information pointed to Alison each and every time. I then realized that the only reason I was hesitant to retain her was that she was younger than her peers, despite her having achieved much more success in her career. I had effectively gotten caught up in the above mentioned preconceived notions, despite the data that proved otherwise.
I had my initial consultation and any doubts that I may have had, effectively disappeared. Alison projected confidence, competence and a strong moral ethic. She kept me grounded and on-course despite the defense attorney’s best efforts to wear me down with repeated trial delays. After a year and a half of unnecessary delays, we finally had our day in court. Alison was nothing short of amazing to watch in court as she single-handedly proved her case over an established defense team.
The judge awarded me everything I was seeking, and lauded Alison for being able to effectively argue such a large, complex case in only one full day session, and that she set the bar for other attorney’s to (hopefully) emulate in her court.
In closing, remember you are trusting your life in the hands of whomever attorney you choose. So, do you want to put your life in the hands of a Specialist, or a General Practitioner? Alison is a Subject Matter Expert in her specialized field of Family Law, so why would anyone select an attorney who practices in multiple different areas of law?
