I was unhappy with the service I received from Leigh Ann Bauer’s office and eventually switched to a different attorney who did a much better job. I retained Leigh Ann Bauer to represent me regarding a DUI charge in 2018. The initial phone interview with Leigh Ann went well, and the online reviews of her office looked good. I paid her office the $3,600 flat-rate fee for DUI representation. The first sign of trouble was a slowness in responding to emails. I had a few questions about the citations that I received during the traffic stop. Several times I found myself sending additional follow-up emails to the office after not hearing anything back for three to four days. The next issue I ran into was Leigh Ann’s office refusing to handle my citations. I received some citations along with my DUI charge when I got pulled over - speeding and a couple others. Leigh Ann’s office informed me that they could not help me with those because they don’t deal with citations, only criminal charges. They suggested that I contact the city prosecutor to request that the citations be consolidated with my criminal case. I called the Fairbanks District Attorney’s office. The person I talked with there said that they could not speak with about the citations because I was already represented by a lawyer. She also said that normally the defendant's attorney would submit the request to get a citation consolidated in with the criminal case. In the long run, during the hearing for the citations, the judge at the Nenana courthouse assigned the citations to be addressed with the criminal case, saying, “dealing with the citations separately from the criminal case would be pretty unusual”. At some point the paralegal left the company. She had been my main point of contact and was the one who was familiar with my case. I think it was a few weeks before a new one came in. Earlier this spring I had a phone appointment scheduled with Leigh Ann to talk about my case. She called me 4 or 5 days prior to the appointment instead. During our impromptu phone call, Leigh Ann mentioned something about the prosecuting attorney bugging her regarding my case. She said the attorney has offered a deal and we need to "pull the trigger" on it soon. Leigh Ann was speaking quickly and not very thoroughly - as if I knew a lot about the case and a lot about the court system’s processes. I had to ask her quite a few simple questions in order to understand what was going on. Eventually Leigh Ann suggested that I plead guilty to the DUI charge. She said the prosecuting attorney would then waive the breath test refusal charge. At this point I reached out to a different attorney. He explained things clearly and concisely and brought up a few options that Leigh Ann had not mentioned. Rather quickly he was able to get my charge reduced to reckless driving and his fee was quite a bit less than the $3,600 I paid to Leigh Ann’s office. Given my experience, I would not recommend using the services of Leigh Ann Bauer’s office.

If I could give lower I definitely would. Needed a very simple court order written to be taken before a judge. This order is to allow a the release of records for which I have standing and should be a very easy job. Though they claim to practice family law they would not assist me to obtain my grown child's juvenile records from a state agency.

Leigh and her staff helped me with a case that came up, and were helpful and professional the throughout the entire process. Whenever I had a question, either her or her assistants would respond promptly and regularly kept me updated. If you are looking for help, Leigh and her office would be a great choice!

There may be a need at some point in your life to engage an attorney to represent yourself or someone you know. Legal procedures are seldom simple, so having someone to guide you through this gauntlet is so very important. As a past client, I can highly recommend the law office of Kelley and Canterbury. Michaela and Chris are a perfect team, and you want them on your side. They are just very real people and they treated me like family. I think their dogs even liked me. They have the experience to see if the case is credible, the commitment or follow it through to fruition, and the patience and understanding to work with their clients through it all. The truth is; if you need a real advocate in a legal issue you need to call them. Bill H

If I could give a worse review I would. When I first hired the law office of Leigh Ann Bauer, I knew she would be pricey but they had agreed to work out a payment plan with me which Is why I went with her office in the first place. But I later found out they wanted me to pay $500 every two weeks! Totally unrealistic. Within the time I was trying to work with her and move through the court process, they lost my payments several times and "accidentally" withdrew extra money from my bank account. ALSO THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG COURT DATE AND TIME ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. And they even emailed me another clients court date information! I have never felt so screwed over in my entire life and I would have been better off defending myself.

The staff was like my family and were by my side from beginning to end. Chris was very supportive and was able to bring a win to my personal injury case when I was not so confident. I would recommend Kelley and Canterbury for any lawsuit as they are all very professional, patient and like family.

I’m so grateful to have had Kelly and Canterbury and their staff to help through such a difficult time. I went to them for my auto accident and couldn’t be more happy with the outcome. They’re always on top of answering any and all my questions and very knowledgeable. They really went to bat for me and I know this process was a lot less painful because I had them in my corner. I think in most people expect lawyers to work miracles and get them completely out of trouble. When it comes down to the basics, you either do the time for the crime, or pay a lawyer to examine your case for any faults that were made by any agency or loop holes so they can help you get “IN ABSOLUTE BEST CASE SCENARIO” charges dropped, or work with the prosecutor to help get jail time, charges, and fines reduced. If there is cold hard evidence that you committed the crime then chances are your not going to get out of it, so you already know you either pay a lawyer or take you chances with a public defender. I happen to be one of those evidence cases that there was little to no chance of getting out of my charge. With that being said the absolute best thing I could have done was meet and hire Leigh Ann Bauer as my attorney, when I brought my case to her, she was a realist right away, and explained that there are always those few things that could of been looked over but if all the evidence is there, told me what I was looking at as far as charges go and what she can do for me. I know that she did everything she possibly could to help me get anything and everything she could reduced, and throughout the entire process was excellent to work with. All the lawyers I spoke with before Leigh Ann were the same, they just told me want I wanted to hear so they could get my money. Leigh Ann gave to me straight without sugarcoating it and I don’t know about you but I’d rather prepare for the worst and hope for the best then have someone fill my head with a bunch of false hope and fake dreams. So if you want a REAL lawyer who will be honest and straight forward with you, who also has an excellent and hard working staff to back her up, then I would go with Leigh Ann Bauer any day of the week. If you want someone who is going to feed you a bunch of false hope for your money then go look elsewhere. P.S. I am a real client that was disgusted with the other negative reviews.

Leigh Ann and all her staff are exceptional at what they do. She is dedicated, responsive and determined. I'm grateful that she never gave up in my case, and I always got nothing but the best advice from her and her team. It' was great to know I had her on my side during my case. I will definitely recommend Leigh Ann Bauer as an attorney.
