From the beginning to the end Jason made the whole legal process very easy to understand and kept me in the loop for all goings on with the case. Any time I had a question he always knew exactly what to say to lead me in the right direction. He was able to get my case settled out of court which was a huge plus. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a lawyer in the Phoenix area.

This was my first experience with the law and Jason did a great job of explaining my options and all the possibilities, he could have easily suggested that I should take the first offer (which was a good one) from the prosecutor, but he put in the extra effort to counter that offer and was able to get me a deferred ruling. This was the absolute best case scenario and I'll be forever grateful! Thank you Jason!

We turned to Mr. Ledyard during a very trying time in our lives and were not disappointed in his response. He and his firm posses all of the qualities you look for when facing a difficult legal issue. His calm demeanor instilled a confidence and calmness in us that we lacked prior to meeting him. His staff is professional, reliable and dependable. Mr. Ledyard walked us through the many layers involved in a complicated probate issue seeing that all of details were addressed properly. We will always be grateful for the advocate he was for us. I have and will continue to recommend him to others. Rest assured that if you call him you will be in the hands of a compassionate, professional, individual that will keep your best interest in mind while navigating the complicated and often times confusing halls of the legal world.

It was of extreme importance to us that we found legal representation that shared the same core values. From our first meeting it was clear that David could not only bring the highest of professional skills and talents to the table he would also be representative of who we are at all times. No matter how undignified and irresponsible our opponent behaved at no time did David sway off the plan of action and stayed the course to a successful ruling to our favor. His core ethics are above reproach. We are very pleased with David and his support team.

Mr.McCarville has represented business and family interests since 2008. The strength of Mr. McCarville's representation lies with his factual case law approach coupled with his care, concern and tenacious approach to complicated legal issues. The ability to have strong court room presence that is tempered to the mood of the Judge and the argument of opposing counsel gives Mr. McCarville's client the confidence to proceed with court defense that otherwise might not be a considered option. A good manager is measured by the quality of staff and the extra care devoted to the legal issues which become very personal to the client. Mr. McCarville, has during the many years of representing myself and family, had a staff who informs, follows through and holds him in their highest regard. By partnering with Nussbaum, Gillis, and Dinner PC, Mr. McCarville has expanded his base of expertise to assist my legal needs. Representation has included matters of commercial land negotiation, multiple estate challenges, trust planning, and legal maneuvering to litigate probate issues. In the past years and through the present the fairness and transparency of billing, information, and resolve move my legal issues forward in a positive direction which will ensure my continued commitment to Mr. McCarville's services.

The one thing I learned early is that you need a team of great people to advise you on getting head in life. For my family, two of those trusted advisers are Paul and Michael Faith. Their knowledge and experience has saved me 10's of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in time. I highly recommend this firm.

I have known Attorney Paul Faith for over 30 years since his practice first opened in Avondale. I have used Paul's legal services over these years for real estate transactions, accident, personal and family law. You feel secure and confident dealing with Paul because he is extremely knowledgeable especially in complex and arcane real estate matters. Paul is also a highly ethical lawyer and individual. This aspect is often underrated but together with specialist knowledge ensures that there will be no comebacks. Paul stands behind his product. Especially pertinent for us West Siders Paul is a walking repository of information on real estate transactions in the West Valley. Ask Paul first because he knows all the who's who in construction and development and the legal and regulatory issues that may have arisen. Paul is the Deputy Mayor of the City of Litchfield Park and has held various legal counsel or prosecutor roles for quite a few West Valley cities. It is this extensive local background, experience and specialist expertise that I believe sets Paul apart. Paul is a highly ethical and extremely competent legal professional. If you require development and real estate legal services, Paul is definitely your go to man. If you have other issues Paul would direct you to other members of his legal team. I absolutely believe you will be in good hands with Paul.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Avondale, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
