When my attorney quit on me right before trial, I reached out to friends for a recommendation. Three people who don't even know each other recommended Jordan to me and I have been SO GRATEFUL for how amazing, patient, diligent, kind, detailed and knowledgeable he is. Jordan took my case when no one else would, they said it was too hard, too much work, too much pressure with the timeline. But I could tell Jordan believed in my case and genuinely wanted to help me and my children. My case has been sticky, emotional, drawn out and basically awful. He got me through trial, relieving my anxieties, helping me feel grounded knowing the statues that protected my family and really just supported me beyond measure. I will recommend him to anyone I know and I'm satisfied with his help in every way. He is trustworthy and thorough. Thank you for all that you do Jordan!

Hired for custody of my son. 10 full months of restraining orders and delays. Took my calls when I needed to vent. Strategic plans on who to hire for private investigator when my son’s life became endangered. Spent time before and after each case preparing and planning for the upcoming or next delayed hearing. Friendly compassionate smart and prepared.

Jordan Zitron is smart and compassionate! He made a highly difficult, emotional situation as smooth as possible. His in-depth knowledge of the law ensured I got the best outcome for a challenging situation. Jordan is calm, he listens to all the details, and is realistic with what the possible outcomes can be for the situation. He is understanding of the emotions involved in these situations, and patiently worked through what my goals were for me and my children. He was consistently prompt and on top of every piece along the way. I recommend him to everyone who needs support with family law, and he has done nothing but exceed expectations!

Hire Mays and Zitron to represent you for your custody case. I promise you will not regret it. Jordan is on top of his cases, he is quick to respond and does not put anything on the back burner. He is forgiving when you act out of sorts due to high emotion and may take it out on him. It’s likely that won’t happen, but if it does, it’ll only happen once because you will quickly realize he isn’t like any attorney you have ever worked with. He doesn’t let anything slip through the cracks and on the very RARE chance he does, he is quick to fix the issue at hand. He spends the time needed to learn your case, get to know you and your children and the details needed to help you succeed in getting a judgement that is truly in the best interest of your child. He is honest and knows the laws. He doesn’t promise you something he cannot deliver and he works with you as your partner. He lifts you up and will spend the time needed to talk things through with you and adjust the strategy if you feel what he has proposed isn’t the best option for your case. He doesn’t drag things out to put more money in his pocket, instead he focuses on what he can do to speed the process up. You can hire Jordan and be at ease knowing you won’t have to be constantly following up with him to make sure he is doing his job. He does not have a paralegal which at first shocked me, but now I see he doesn’t need one. This doesn’t just save his clients time and money, it helps keep him fully in the know of his cases. When it comes to hearings, Jordan will be prepared and ready to fight for you. If for whatever reason time is cut short during your hearing, he will quickly adjust the plan to be sure to get on the record what is most important to be sure the record reflects the priorities in your case. When he asked me how I was feeling prior to walking into our hearing, I immediately said, “ I am excited” he was surprised to hear me say that. I wasn’t surprised I was saying it. I walked in, head held high, because I knew he was just as invested in this fight as I was. I knew truth was on our side and so did he. When time was cut short, he knew exactly what exhibits needed to be admitted and what questions to ask, under the pressure he didn’t forget what the judge needed to hear. His clients aren’t just a paycheck, he sees our families as human beings who need someone they can trust to walk along side them in this very difficult journey. After 2 long years, 1.5 years spent with another attorney who didn’t give me the same peace and confidence as Jordan did in just the short 6-8 months he worked with me, He accomplished more than I ever thought was possible. He was confident in what we could expect as an outcome because he knew the laws specific to our case. I am forever thankful for Jordan and look forward to continuing to work with him as needed.

10/10 would hire Jordan at every applicable opportunity. Jordan understood the dynamics of my case before i did. He saw points in the timeline of this hearing and that motion that mattered more than I understood. Jordan had a strategy for everything and helped me win the battles that ultimately secured the outcome i wanted in regards to my divorce, custody, and all the legal framework associated with all that. His expertise is invaluable. The stress he took off my shoulders is indescribable. Always felt like he had me covered. Jordan is the right choice for your divorce/custody needs.

Francisco and his team made the process of getting our affairs in order easy and actually fun. The process they use takes into account the needed information, but they go further and help us consider the emotional part of leaving a legacy. Extremely gut wrenching at times, but so worth it! We feel blessed that we found Francisco and that our affairs are in order.

Carol has co-ordinated our process of resolving an intestate will for us when our parents passed away. It was a difficult situation . Carol handled each part of the process with expertise and communicated it all to us really well. Our family live in several different countries and she was able to co-ordinate all 16 heirs in a smooth process to settle the estate. I highly recommend her .

When I first contacted Mark Arnett concerning taking a case against the insurance company for my home, he was considerate, respectful, thorough and from the onset explained what he thought was possible. I previously had approached about 10 other lawyers, who would not take my case. Mr. Arnett greatly reduced my anxiety with his calm manner which was most appreciated and sorely needed. Last week, I received a settlement check and am so grateful for his kindness and exceptional work on my behalf. I hope I never have another situation like that again, however if I do I would definitely hire him and I will recommend him to anyone who needs an attorney with comprehensive insurance law knowledge.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Chandler, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
