This guy is unbelievably good. Got me out of a pretty serious situation. I’ve called around and they were asking for over 20grand and they said there is a possibility of prison time Bryan asked for 14grand. But the kicker is that i didn’t spend a night in jail. Very highly recommended. His experience is through the roof I truly truly couldn’t have asked for a better lawyer in all honesty Thank you Bryan

I received a DUI first of this year and I was freaking out. It was my first offense, I was panicking and not in a good headspace. So I was stressed to say the least. After seeing what the officer was charging me with I realized I needed a lawyer I could trust that could help me through this messed up situation I got myself into. Unfortunately every criminal defense/DUI lawyer in the Flagstaff area wanted a ridiculous amount of money for my DUI case and were not confident in the outcome. Almost everyone wanted over five thousand to do the case, until I talked to Bryan. He was a realist and didn't promise me any guaranteed outcome, but he was calm and told me he would do everything in his power to help me out. In my time of stress and panic I needed a person like that to calm me down and let me know it was all under control. So I hired him for a reasonable fee and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome, not just because his fee was reasonable but he did an outstanding job for my case. I went from being charged with a felony DUI charge to being brought down to a misdemeanor impaired to slightest degree. Bryan went above and beyond for me and I am eternally grateful for his efforts on helping me during my time of turmoil. If you need a criminal defense lawyer in Flagstaff Arizona for any reason especially a DUI Bryan Antol is your guy!

I was in a serious and first time legal situation and in need of just the right attorney, someone competent and respected, as my initial attorney fumbled the ball so to speak. Bryan Antol came recommended as one of the top criminal defense attorney’s in Arizona, and he absolutely lives up to this recommendation. Switching to him was the best thing I did. He was immediately compassionate and patient with me, offered a very fair fee, and answered all of my questions and concerns with precision. Whether he realizes this or not, he also enabled me to feel safe in the midst of an otherwise very scary time - his calm demeanor and obvious intelligence was just the right mix for my anxiety. He was clear in his approach to my case and helped me to understand the whole legal process (which was all so new to me!). He was able to get the more serious charge dropped, working out a plea agreement that not only kept me out of jail, but was also the absolute most lenient outcome I could’ve hoped for. I am deeply grateful! He was always lightning quick to respond to any of my inquiries or requests throughout my case and his whole staff was courteous and kind. He genuinely cares about his clients and has over 30 years of respected and reputable experience in the Flagstaff area, including over a decade of experience as a former prosecutor. If you want a smart, conpassionate, devoted, and respected lawyer on your side, I highly recommend Bryan and truly cannot thank him enough!

Kenneth Sheffield is one of the most professional, confident, and assuring lawyers I’ve ever encountered. I found myself in a very unfortunate situation, and by the grace of God, I found the Rideout Law Group. Whether it was answering my questions at a minute’s notice, to transferring my case from the Public Defender’s Office with only a very short time frame available, Rideout Law Group handled absolutely every step with ease. Shortly after retaining a more professional and “by the book” counsel (Mr. Sheffield), compared to my assigned public defender, my case was ultimately dismissed. Do NOT play with your future and your record, especially in the state of Arizona. I would refer Mr. Sheffield and the Rideout Law Group to my family if the time ever came.

Ken returned my call pretty quickly regarding a traffic ticket and was not only willing to help me out, but even explained how to go about things myself (traffic court, mind you... not something more serious) if I was not able to afford his services. I am sure he does not have the time to do that for everyone, but he seemed very nice and was very helpful for me. At the end of the day, I expect that I will hire him just because he was so nice, so knowledgeable about the system and so helpful.

Both Elliot Alford and his secretary Sabine go above and beyond when it comes to helping their clients. Since the first phone call we had with Alford, he recommended what to do based on our immigration situation. Sabine is such a sweetheart and answers ALL questions you may have about your case. I’ve heard people have a hard time filing for their permanent residency, but Alford Law made it completely stressful free and easy!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Flagstaff, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
