Jacob Smets is a fantastic attorney and, in my opinion, the best representation money can buy. He's also an all around great guy who really cares about his clients. KaLynda is an absolute gem and she has done a wonderful job of keeping me in the loop on what I needed to be doing. She was also great at promptly getting me answers for any questions that I had. That said, the most important thing is results and this firm delivers. If you're reading this review it's probably because you're in a bad situation. My advice would be to stay calm and hire Jacob Smets. This could be the difference between getting a fair shake in court or your life being destroyed.

Steve, Jackie, and Melissa helped us establish and execute an estate plan for our family. Flagstaff being a small town, it can be awkward sharing personal family details, but we were always made to feel welcome and comfortable. Steve was knowledgeable and patient with us answering our questions, explaining the legalese and implications of certain choices in language we could understand. In our meetings they were always on time, prepared, professional and courteous. Highly recommend!

There is a special place in Heaven for attorney Jacob Smets. I called him after my boyfriend was arrested and his mother and I were trying to figure out our next steps. I probably talked to at least 20 different people that day alone to try and untangle the mess my boyfriend was caught in, including several other attorneys. Jacob was the only one to take the time to hear me out and help me understand what was going on as well as what could be done about it. He was the only one who didn’t make me feel dismissed or stupid or like I was hitting a dead end. He gave us hope. I am endlessly thankful for the help and patience Jacob has so graciously extended to us and it will never be forgotten.

My overall opinion about Jennifer Ruben is this: she is a good and experienced attorney and an even better person. I truly believe that Jennifer cared about me as a person and about how the divorce process affected me, my spouse, and our children. She looked out for my best interest as well as for the best interest of my spouse and our children. Jennifer Ruben is NOT an echo chamber. This was extremely helpful to me. Jennifer gave me a range of what might happen based on the facts of my case. Nothing was sugar coated but everything was explained in a tactful manner without being overly jarring. All cases have some weakness to them. Jennifer clearly pointed out the weaknesses in my case and carefully explained how they may play out in mediation and/or trial. Jennifer Ruben’s trial preparation is solid and is based on specific planning depending on the facts. She is able to critically assess the best-case narrative in favor of me her client. She created an overriding theme for the judge to follow and she researched relevant case law to deflect the opposing attorney’s counterpoints. Above all, Jennifer is a good listener and observes the judge’s reaction during trial and most importantly, changes the course of her questioning in real time to reflect these observations. Often, you don’t want to retraumatize a spouse and need to ask questions in a sensitive and courteous way without being relentless, which I think my trial judge responded to favorably. Jennifer is able to do this questioning with precision and accuracy in real time to get at the facts of the case which support the narrative she is trying to tell. This is an innate quality of hers which greatly helped me in my divorce trial. Lastly, I am very appreciative and indebted for Jennifer’s representative during the divorce process including mediation and the divorce trial. Her engagement with me, with my spouse, with the opposing attorney, and with the trial judge was always ethical, considerate, thoughtful, and professional. She navigated me through one of the toughest and lowest points in my life with integrity and I will be forever grateful for her guidance. Thank you again Jennifer.

Philip Quindry and Stephen Glazer met with my husband and I to do Estate Planning and set up a Trust. Never having set up a Trust before Philip and Stephen walked us through the entire process answering any and all questions. They were professional and personable and all around just enjoyable to work with and to be around. We had to bring our 13 month to the appointments and never felt like they were put out by having a baby in a conference room, something I’m sure all parents appreciate as you can’t always leave your kiddo behind. Highly recommend this group!

Over the years, we have many great experiences with this law firm. They were always kind and helpful. When I needed representation in family court, I didn't hesitate on calling and gaining the representation I needed.. The entire process they have been very pleasant and compassionate in my needs.
