So nobody actually LIKES to go to court, especially during a pandemic, but sometimes it's necessary. We went to file some paperwork and I'm usually happy with the service. Kudos. This time, in the midst of a pandemicI was extremely impressed. Masks required, temperature taken at the door, close chairs inaccessible; it was wonderful.
As usual the staff was helpful and pleasant. Considering the age of the building it's in e excellent shape.

I am using someone elses account to write this. When appearing in person for EDC, during covid-19 pandemic, I checked in 15minutes before I was scheduled for court, 1:15.......
........3:15, I kindly ask the balliff if I might have missed my name being called, to speak with my public defender and then appear before the judge, nope he says, I impatiently but quietly and calmly sit back down.....3:45, me and two other gentleman are scarcely seated when the balliff calls all our names at once telling us directions to the lobby waiting outside the court room upstairs, apparently downstairs failed to tell upstairs that all three of us were present, waiting to appear, so in my case at least, by 4:30, once I finally am at the stand for my case, a warrant was issued for me for failure to appear, because it looked to them when I was called on the docket that I was not present, even though I was seated........ signed in...... DOWNSTAIRS. After all the mess ups and frustrations, my public defender was so tired and irritated, she projected her attitude towards me saying I was rolling my eyes while walking into court room, and making it obvious I was upset, she shut me down before I could even say anything when she came at me with "Listen young lady, I've had a long day too so cut the attitude." I hadn't even said a peep, nor did I roll my eyes, im vision depending on my eye glasses and am currently functionong without because they got broke, my insurance doesn't cover glasses and I can't afford them. needless to say, I was more than pleased when the judge kindly quashed my warrant when becoming aware of what had happened.

I'm using someone else's account for this review... When other reviewers are mentioning "friendly staff" they must be talking about clerks. My review is based on staff attorney's and other people on staff you may encounter during a divorce. I filed to divorce an abusive man. This man gave $30,000+ to attorneys and it took years to divorce him. The court sent my children - already victims of trauma - to the creepiest guy imaginable. One of my children cried when having to talk to him and he stated this "meant I coached them" and called my children liars as they recounted witnessing their father abuse their mother - SOMETHING HE HAD BEEN CONVICTED OF YEARS EARLIER!! Then the court proceeded to try to put me in jail and sent children's services to my home. Luckily, the woman who came - SHOWED UP TO COURT TO DEFEND ME!!! This court bought into money and manipulation. And the court ordered attorneys don't even know how to comb their hair, let alone do anything else. I had to fight for years to defend myself and my children - not only against an abusive man - but against this horrible court. DO NOT FILE FOR DIVORCE IN THIS COURT!

The racial climate in this country is becoming more untenable for people of color each week & here in Arizona the blatant bias regarding people of color in this court is palpable. I wasnt informed to sign in so I sat patiently waiting for my name to be called on the docket. My PD was curt with me almost to the point of rudeness. He told me the states" offers, which ran from bad to the pits. He has no intention of providing me a defense. That was painfully obvious. I spent hours listening to cases & situations that were not much different than my own, some were worse, yet I witnessed options & kindness that were painfully lacking regarding my own case.

I’ve been looking for my daughter for almost 3 years her mother kept her from me. She moved to Arizona then tried to file something in Arizona to change my visitation. I was never served for the court hearing and they still held the hearing. I did go to the court hearing because I found out about it. I had documents ready to be served to my ex the court system in Arizona served her but didn’t want to sign the service docs. They said I would get a copy through the court. I’ve been calling every day for the last two weeks from the day she was served in court no one wants to provide me proof of service. They wonder why people are getting upset with them when all I need is a letter or documentation saying what was served when in by who . I keep getting the runaround by the staff in this courthouse apparently what it seems to me is because I’m the father my care for my daughter does not matter three years I’ve been waiting the only thing that’s stopping me from taking my ex-wife to court in the state of Texas where joursdiction belongs. Is this court house. And to top it all off the judge filed a new order emergency order that my ex-wife is still not following go figure.
