Rich Elley was highly instrumental in my and my partners overcoming some antiquated and incorrect claims to real estate we owned and which needed to be resolved in a timely fashion. Rather than undertaking expensive litigation to cure the title he undertook a means which was highly cost effective for all. He and his assistant, Justine, were well organized and effective and as an attorney myself I can say his legal service to us was outstanding. I recommend him for any real estate related matters.

If I could give this firm 10 stars, I would. Rich Elley and his staff stayed with us, through the ups and downs of our case, for 2-1/2 years, with unwavering professional support, a calm voice of patience and reasoning, great advice for “next steps” - and in the end, Elley Law secured a complete and total win for us. Everything that Rich Elley requested from the courts, was granted. Every milestone was a win for us and we are unimaginably grateful for his expertise. And to be transparent, there were days of complete despair, but Rich pulled us through. We are now at the finish line and we are elated with the results. If you are looking for an expert, who is not only extremely knowledgeable in his craft, but also personable and kind, Rich is your lawyer. His staff is equally supportive and you will never feel as if Elley Law doesn’t 100% have your back. We cannot recommend this firm more…do not hesitate to reach out to Rich, because you will not regret that choice. In fact, if you have any questions about a transaction, reach out to him before you land in hot water like we did. His expertise will guide you to the right decisions to protect your assets (and your peace of mind). Thank you again to the team at Elley law, you literally saved our entire life savings from being lost to us and we are forever grateful.

I had begun my Court case journey with Zalena during the early 1990's. My divorce took about two years to resolve, and child custody continued another five years before I received full custody of my daughter. The case was very difficult and complex at times mainly due to the financial means of my ex's family and the legal representation they were able to obtain. Zelena and her team had to contend with a couple of different high-powered AZ law firms in order to get the matter settled via the Court. Zelena was determined to obtain an outcome that would serve both my daughter and me over the long haul. We were eventually able to move on with our daily lives uninterrupted from court proceedings. This would not have happened without Zalena's tireless efforts with my case. Please remember during the 1990's, representing a guy was probably a bit more difficult at that time than it probably is today. Fast forward 25 years later, I'm a member of the Arizona State Retirement System and I begin looking into retiring, it was during that time that I found out that the Domestic Relations Order (DRO) was being interpreted by ASRS differently than what was intended. Lucky for me Zalena was still practicing, I called her up and discussed the issue, she refiled to correct the DRO and ASRS had the updated document within a month or so which was very timely because the Courts were closed for physical entry during this time due to the covid pandemic. I guess the most important thing that I would like you to know about Zalena is that she won't be out worked.

Ms Foster answered my question a long time ago but I didn't realize I could write a review, I hope this message finds you. The question I asked was something that affected me deeply and she responded quickly with a professional attitude but more importantly kindness. The other lawyers answers were cold without any emotional sympathy. I am on SSI and my partner proposed and I was both excited but fearful of the affect on my benefits. She calculated the actual amount I would lose which fortunately was hundreds less than I feared. With her assurance I can start my family with the right calculation and without anxiety. Thank you.

I was looking for an attorney to help me at the Federal Level in my Social Security Case and was having no luck at all. I received a response from Amy to call and talk to her if I would like. I contacted her sent her in my denial notice and she was right on top of things. We did the contract through email and she was able to file my federal suit before the deadline. I am confident that God placed her in my path to help and I strongly believe that the case will be won.

I have had the opportunity to speak to several of Ms Foster's clients over the past several months. They rave about her service and make sure to tell me that they refer her to everyone they know. From knowing Ms Foster personally, I know how trustworthy she is--if she can help someone, she will! She belies the attorney stereotype by being consistently straightforward and honest. I am honored to know her in both a personal and professional capacity and would not hesitate to introduce her to those in need of her services.

Jake Carlson and his team at Lifeplan Legal are exceptional. They were able to take us from the initial consult all the way through the hiring process and completed an estate plan that my wife and I are extremely happy with. Jake is a true professional. He was always available to answer and review questions, simplify many legal terms and procedures and help us understand the differences between various powers of attorney. My wife and I were very impressed with his depth of knowledge and his genuine care and concern for his clients. The concept of create an estate plan based on values is also another clever and meaningful approach that really resonated with us. Jake and his team at LifePlan Legal aside from being highly professional and approachable, are also friendly and thorough. We believe that we acquired a wonderful value and give Jake and his team the highest recommendation to anyone looking for a meaningful approach to estate planning. Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Gilbert, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
