I've been a lawyer in Arizona for 15 years. During that time I had extensive interactions with this firm. Although certain individuals are perfectly good people, overall my opinion is not positive.

I've known Mr. Houk for over 20 years and worked with him in a professional capacity. I highly recommend Chris and his firm. He is aggressive, skilled and honest.

I was laid off from my job and had a dispute with my former employer, and Chris contacted me after-hours to help me determine next steps. I specifically needed advice on whether I should sign my severance agreement or negotiate. Chris was well-versed in the issues, and talked through several options for me to help me make an educated decision on what to do next. Most importantly, he simply believed me. He understood the challenge I was facing and was able to validate my concerns and then educate me on the law, the process for filing a case and what the emotional and physical cost might be for me. This was exactly the information I needed, and he helped me decide what my next steps would be. I am so grateful, and afterward, my nerves were more calm. I actually slept better that night in part because I'd received his counsel, and that's priceless.

Family Law Attorney Leonce Richard has some outstanding reviews, therefore, I felt comfortable hiring him. However, I am at a complete puzzle as to how anyone involved in a court case could hire him and be pleased about it! He is experienced & legally knowledgeable; however, in my opinion, he does NOT belong in the courtroom. To say he "argues" in court is a gross overstatement! He barely utters any verbal points or support for his client. Never preps his client for what might happen, what might be points brought up in court & how to answer questions, etc. His legal knowledge is good & he has been an attorney with Dickinson Wright PLLC for some time and that's where it ends. In my divorce, I was sued 4 times in 8 years by my ex-husband, leaving me in almost a continued state of litigation for 8 years. With each trial, Mr. Richard knew & remembered less and less about the initial divorce until the 4th trial when he literally sat there and uttered NOTHING...not a syllable, in my defense. By the time of my 4th trial, EVERYTHING I was awarded in the first court trial was taken away from me because of so many points that were never covered & reinforced since the initial trial. At times, I tried to add information at trial and it was mostly declared as "hearsay" because Mr. Richard never submitted the information to the courts pretrial. The list of grievances goes on & on. Again, in my opinion, Mr. Richard does not belong in court since he does little to nothing to protect & defend his client or discredit with legitimate information the opposing client!

Whether it’s resolving a matter out of court or taking a case through trial and appeals, I know Chris to be a passionate and tireless advocate for his clients. I would recommend Chris Houk to any family member or friend who might be facing any employment issues.

I have been able to witness Chris Houk as both opposing counsel as to claims made pre-lawsuit and through legal committee work. He is a determined advocate who is able to use his experience with the EEOC to the full advantage of his clients.

Chris is a fantastic attorney. He is thoughtful, thorough, experienced, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.

Andrew Miller represented us regarding a variance with the Town of Paradise Valley. Looking for the right attorney was critical and when I had my initial discussion with Andrew it was apparent he was knowledgeable and candid about our situation.
