After 11 years with my employer, I was informed that my position would be retired and was offered a package that included a transition period, stock buyout, and severance. Being an executive with the company for so long, I felt the offer was very weak. Additionally, I thought there may be some wrongdoing so I decided to hire Phil. Hiring an attorney was the best decision I made and Phil was the right guy for the job. He had empathy for my situation and his extensive experience in employment law gave me an edge in getting the package that I deserved. Our goal at the beginning was to get a certain dollar amount as severance that would help me pay for the attorney and provide income while I found a new job. The results were much better than expected. I got more severance, a longer transition period, and they waived the repayment of some salary that they claimed I was overpaid. Phil handled all communication with the company and got them to understand it was in their best interest to make me happy. I got more than what I wanted and all parties were happy!
